OMG...he is still ASLEEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: September 02, 2005, 14:29:43 pm »
Hi everyone!

I have good news for the first nap of the day!!

He woke up as follows:

450am feed and back to sleep
630am light feed and downstairs
8am full feed and play downstairs
815 yawning...upstairs to wind down
830 shh/pat to sleep, paci for 5 minutes in crib then i removed
913am woke up crying...upstairs shh/pat, paci for about 15 minutes-asleep AGAIN!!!
915 started to cry again--shh pat for 5 minutes--back to sleep!!!
915-1013 started to stir...waited by monitor--STILL ASLEEP!!

That is where I am now...if he wakes up now....I will let him get up...OMG..almost 2 hours....(including wake times in between)!!

THINGS I CHANGED TODAY:

1.  Got HEAVY drapes for blinds in room....now almost as dark as nighttime.

2.  Loosely swaddled legs...(armpits down)...but NOT arms at all

It is now 10:22 and he is still sleeping...this is the longest EVER!!

I hope this is a breakthrough and not a fluke...I think the darkness is what has really helped!!!

Thanks for reading...hope I can help someone with these ideas.

So,.................I have put him down for his second nap o' the day.

He has now been asleep from 12:40pm until now..........and is still asleep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It is now 1:52pm...I went in at 1:25pm and did shh/pat paci for 25 minutes of in and out sleep...and now he seems settled.

I think the thing that is working is dark dark dark...when he wakes up crying now...he does NOT seem totally awake....like half awake and half asleep...I can see his little eyeballs fluttering and rolling while crying....it is WAY WAY WAY easier to shhhhh him back to sleep now,..I cannot believe the difference.

I have not even picked him up today.....(I am referring to getting him back to sleep only, of course)...I have been able to comfort him from his bed!!!  OH HAPPY DAY!!!!!

I hope this helps someone else.....(like I know what I am doing-HAHA!)

Colesmom.........how goes it today girlfriend??

Let me know!
