Any ideas where to buy it?
« on: September 13, 2005, 14:07:32 pm »
Hi everyone,
our ds is a tummy sleeper and a few weeks ago seemed to have caught a slight sniffle, which at night seemed to get so much worse to the point where he was so bunged up he could barely breathe.
For this reason I slipped a pillow under his mattress to elevate it which worked a treat. The night before last I removed the pillow and he had a really restless night sleep so last night I put it back and he slept all night again.
Does anyone know if and where I could buy a more practical replacement for the pillow?
Becky

Hi Becky

You can get these

http://www.baby-wise.com/product_info.php?products_id=437

which are wedges that are used on top of the mattress instead of a pillow, but I don't know if anywhere in the UK sells them.

Tbh though we just used the normal pillow under the mattress and it was fine (and a lot cheaper!).

love
Marie

I've seen those wedges in one of the baby catologues, NCT? Bolloming marvellous? Jojo maman?

We've used a pillow and a v cushion before, DD actually slept on the v cushion for 4 months, totally against everything you are told about cot death etc, but it was the best thing for her.

I've seen other people put telephone directories or coffee mugs under one end of the bed!

We have used blocks under the crib legs, and a pillow under the mattress.  But the thing that worked best for us was to adjust the mattress height to a higher setting on one end than the other. Does that make sense?
