"Staring" episodes when feeding solids
« on: September 03, 2005, 05:59:49 am »
Hi

I began to notice that my LO has this "staring" episodes when I feed her solids - she will be happily eating, then she will just kind of "space out" for a couple of seconds and then continue. Is this normal? Do I "wake" her up from the staring or just leave her? Should I be worried?
All kinds of thoughts are crossing my mind and I'm a bit worried

Thanks

Hi!  So funny that you posted that!  My little one does the same thing, zoning out to the point that we have to wave a hand in front of his eyes and say HELLLOOOO.  I think for the most part it is normal and may be just from a being stimulated or sleepy.  But you may want to mention it to your doc...  When a baby is having a petite mal seizure, it looks like they are just zoning out for some time.  I am sure that is not the case, but I just thought I'd mention it.  (Now I need to follow my own advice and mention it to Nathan's doctor!)

Lindsey does this too.  I think she is just daydreaming though.
