Can anyone help me?
I have been trying to get my 3wk old daughter onto EASY for the last 6 days with mixed success and could do with some advise.
She feeds (bottle) regularly at 3 intervals now which is a big success and can go 4 hours at night which we are thrilled with (she has no problems getting to or staying asleep at night). I manage to keep her awake after her feeds to do some activity time (nappy changes, looking at play gym etc) but this always leads to vomitting (she suffers badly with wind and vomitting and colic (as I did as a baby)) which then means I seem to miss her sleep cues and can't get her down to nap.
Todays example: I spent the entire 2 hours of her first S time this morning doing pat/sshhh only to have to then give her food because she was hungry and due a feed. As soon as she ate she was tired and then took a nap. As you can see we are a little lost, she seems to be able to do ESA but not EAS and I am convinced it is a lot to do with the vomitting.
I have tried to swaddle her but she hates it with a passion and gets very upset, she prefers to sleep in a star position and this works perfectly at night. I use humming in a dark room as a wind down as soon as I see the first yawn and it works to a point but then she is wide awake and I think I am missing her cues.
Can anyone help? How do I keep her awake for A without inducing vomitting? How do I get an overtired baby to S?
hoping someone can provide some advice, thanks
