Recently unwrapped 5 mnth old now back to 40min naps
« on: September 15, 2005, 21:08:04 pm »
Oh no, I finally achieve my goal of my  unwrapped baby but now he's waking after 40 mins napping. He used to sleep 1 - 2 hours. He's sleeping well at night being unwrapped, but his waking time has gone from between 3-5am for a feed to 1-2am, then back to sleep until about 6amish.

Do I go back to wrapping for the longer sleeps or just go with it and hope he learns to resettle himself at 40min mark.

Pat/shh or PUPD are not options as I've tried and although not committed days and days to them, they don't seem to work with him. He used to do 40m naps but once I extended his awake time these remedied themselves. I've just started keeping him up 2 hours, so I would have thought this would help get him through, but it doesn't seem to be.

What should I do, anything or nothing?

Well.. it's up to you if you want to go back to wrapping him. Many infants prefer to be wrapped, and there's nothing wrong with that!

A lot of times, a regression happens and a chronic short napper will return to short napping.  It's so frustrating!  I would hold back and see what happens within the next few days.
