Feeding times only 15 minutes

We've only been doing EASY for a week now and it's going relatively well.  The only thing is, I can only get my 8 week old to eat about 10 -15 minutes at a time.  Most times, he does fall asleep, so I do the things to wake him up (diapering, spine walking, etc). He will wake up but he doesn't want to eat after that either.  He has 20 - 30 minute active times.  He's happy, gaining weight and sleeping 45min-1.5 hours during nap times.   He eats every 2.5 hours during the days and goes for about 5 hour stretches most nights.  How can I get him to feed longer or should I even worry about it?  Thanks..Micky

I wouldn't worry!  At that age, he probably only needs 10-15 min to get a full feed - they get much more efficient as eaters! If output is good, then input usually must be too.

I think he is doing fabulous! 2.5 hours during the day and up to five hours at night sounds great to me. And if he is eating only for 15 minutes, I think he is doing what most babies his age do, he is efficient.
