Well, we just stopped with the morning bottle about 2 weeks ago, but Adrian was always happy to eat breakfast soon after the morning bottle (and then another one in the daycare ;).

Does he take a sippy cup? Maybe offer him sippy cup with breakfast soon after waking up?

Hi,

My dd is 8.5 months old and is on 3 meals and 4 bottles a day although we are in the process of dropping the 4th bottle which is the dreamfeed.

The way it works for us is roughly as follows depending of course on when she wakes:-

7:30/8:00 Solids

8:30/9:00 Bottle

1:00pm    Solids

3:30/4:00 Bottle

5:30/6:00 Solids

7:00/7:30 Bottle

10pm Dreamfeed

As we are reducing the dreamfeed I am either adding an extra oz to one of her daytime bottles or to her solids. She normally has 5 oz in each bottle so has been having 20 fl oz which is about the average a baby should have up until they are 1.

Is it worth trying putting less in his breakfast bottle so he will be ready for his solids earlier and then making that up in a later bottle?

As long as he is happy and putting weight on I wouldn't worry too much as it may just be a phase he is going through. I don't think it is normal to drop the morning bottle until a lot later so I would carry on giving it to him.
