When can you unswaddled a baby without her jolting awake.

My lo is 13 weeks, I started to swaddle her about 5 weeks ago as she jolted herself awake.  I want her to find her thumb so I can take away her dummy, but when I try putting her to sleep, she continuously rubs her eyes and nose and they are becoming so red and she gets so overtired and crys until I swaddle her again.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You might try the Aussie swaddle. It will wrap her so that her hands are near her face, and if she wants to suck her fist she can do it right through the fabric. Mine never found his thumb, despite having every opportunity!

Instructions for the Aussie swaddle are at the top of this forum. It takes some practice (I practiced on a big teddy bear) but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy!

or try a gradual unswaddle, swaddling hands up near face with fists sticking out or just unswaddling one arm, my ds wouldn't cope with a full unswaddle but does quite nicely with one arm out

I have tried it but she is always rubbing her eyes or taking her dummy out.  She can't control her hands at the moment and I wonder how long she will take to get control of her hands.
