solids and teething
« on: September 20, 2005, 17:59:54 pm »
Hi all, I've recently posted on the sleep site that my little guy is really having problems sleeping, last night the worst yet, but it just occured to me that perhaps it's his teething... he just cut a tooth and looks to be another soon... and we've been introducing solids. Could he be having a reaction to the solids, or is teething really bad on some little duckies?? He seems to have gas, pain, he's not eating very much. Almost like the flu, but he has no fever. I can sometimes get him to sleep ok, and then I hear him whimpering and tossing and turning and sometimes outright crying in his sleep. Could it be an allergy?
It's such a confusing time with the solids and teeth that I don't know what's normal and what's coincidence etc.
Any advice or experiences?? I'd really appreciate it.

Have things improved at all? Hopefully he's eating better for you these days!

Sounds like teething... did you or could you try some pain meds? If it's his teeth you should notice they help but if it's the food that's bothering him the pain med won't do anything.

Thanks for replying. I did try Tylenol, and now that his 2 bottom teeth are through he has been sleeping through the night!!! Yay! He still wakes sometimes at 5, but mostly is doing great. It's weird, it just happened one night. I didn't really do anything different, I guess he's just growing up! How are your little ones??
