My ped said no egg white until 9mos (most others do say a year).  But to also use your instinct.  If there is history of any food allergies in the family I would wait.  If you wait, you just scramble the yolk - I always add a little water or milk to mine.  :D

You can definately separate the whites and yolks and then scramble the yolks.  I found boiled eggs easier.  I hard boiled them so the yolk was solid.  I mashed the yolk with yogurt or BM.  It workd well since DH liked the whites but not the yolk. No waste.

You can also use the egg yolk to make french toast. I'd use the white to make myself an omelet while I made DS some french toast, then tear it into bits for finger food. He loved it!

I've just started using a plastic egg poacher in the microwave.  In 45 seconds the egg is done and it's easy to just remove the cooked yolk from the whites.  I feed dd one cooked yolk in her cereal and I eat the other egg and her white on toast!

thanks all for your tips.

another question. can cooked egg be stored in the fridge?

if cook an egg in shell and put in fridge for later use in the day, is that ok?
can it be re-heated in microwave ? or can be eaten cold?

Yes, yes, not sure, yes

I always hard boil several eggs at a time to use over the week.  I keep them in the fridge.  I think you can keep them up to a week in the shell. They actually keep longer in teh shell than out.  I think I have only reheated the yolk in the microwave until just warm, but we prefer them cold sometimes.
