« on: September 22, 2005, 22:27:09 pm »
Cooper (24mths) has been in his big bed for 1 week now, he went in it with no dramas, sleeps though, has beautiful 2 hr naps at from 11- 1pm BUT he has been gradually waking earlier each day.
In his cot he always slept until at least from 6.45 pm to 6.30, 6am on an odd day, since the move to the bed he has been getting up 10 mins earlier each day. Today 5am - YUK !
Please any advice, solutions ?????

He has a gate on his door and just stands there and cries - is not interested in playing in his room at all.

Thanks , i await anxiousy................

Hello,

I have not yet dealt with the transition to a big boy bed, but will share some tips that I have heard from other moms.  One is to go to him and lay him back down, and tell him that it is still nighttime.  You may have to do this a few times, and this may take several days.  Another is to set an alarm in his room, for say 6:30, and explain that once it goes off then it is time to get up.

He may even settle back himself once the novelty of the new bed wears off.

Hope this helps a little!
