First up, apologies if this had been well covered before, but I couldn't readily see it on the first couple of pages of posts.
DD is 6 months next week, and has been on solids for nearly two months. At the moment the schedule looks something like this:
7.30-8 - Bottle
11 - rice + fruit
2-2.30 - bottle
5.30ish - fruit/veg
6.30 - bath+little bottle
11-11.30 - dream feed bottle
She's always been a hungery little thing (generally took 30-50% more daily totals than the guidelines), but now the liquid intake has dropped from around 1000ml when she was taking one solid meal per day (usually banana), to around 400-500ml now she's on two proper meals.
We also always offer a small bottle after a solid meal, which she may or may not have some of.
I just get the feeling that she's taking some of her bottle feeds though thirst rather than hunger.
Now, an obvious solution would be to replace some of the milk with water or juice, but she hasn't really got the idea of the trainer cup, and I'm not sure about the idea of juice from a bottle (for fear of confusion, and problems moving onto the trainer cup later)
So, I guess the questions are:
Should I be worried about her total liquid intake? (and, for that matter, is it OK to leave her to self-regulate her total liquid/solid intake?)
If trying to introduce juice, is it better to put juice in a bottle for her, or put milk in the trainer cup to encourage her onto that?
Any other hints/tips/advise most gratefully recieved...
