anyone feel like naps are always a battle?
« on: September 23, 2005, 17:25:30 pm »
i dread getting up each morning!  my lo is a pretty good night sleeper but everyday it's a battle to get her to take her naps.  and if i do manage to get her down, she is up again 30 minutes later and there is no putting her back to sleep.

anyone else feel this way?

I remeber just getting him to sleep was a battle.  I'm not the best to give sleep advice, cus well I didn't fallow the rules.  But just to let ya know you are not the only one.

Hang in there. :D

I'm there too... her night sleep isn't too bad but the naps are SHORT!

If she wakes up happy, I leave her be... if she is grumpy, I try to put her back to sleep. I try for 15-20 minutes, then I let her get up... if she continues to be grumpy, I let it go for another 20-25 minutes and she goes down for a nap again. This is the only way I maintain my sanity.

I can't seem to extend her naps and even with short naps, it doesn't affect her night sleep so... why mess up a good thing?

You know my ds took alot of short naps when he was younger as he got older he started sleeping longer on his own.  I really didn't do much with the sleep training thing I let him tell me when he was tierd, and sleep for however long, and he put himself on a schedule.

When Brendan was younger, (under 3 months old) I dreaded the day naps.. he would get so upset and we really struggled.  I think I spent the first 5 months of his life, with a knot in my belly.

BUT.. it did improve and it got better.. and soon I stopped worrying and fretting about it.

Is there anything we can help you with, so that it improves for you?
