squash for a toddler
« on: September 25, 2005, 00:01:48 am »
Can anyone give me any idea's?  Kayne just loved squash when he just started eating but now that he's bigger he eats mostly what we eat, which is never squash.  I have just bought a small squash and am sure he would eat it in chunks as he loves veggies, but never enough to use the whole squash.  I have the same problem with sweet potato.  Maybe a recipe I could freeze? just the chunks, I'm sure would be mushy once frozin.

thanks

I always boil squah with potatoes and mash with butter and milk. You can freeze it mashed so you can get it when you want. Also it can make a lovely soup.
For more recipes go to the website below and put in squash and you'll get loads of sites

So it is o.k. to give my lo mashed potatoes that I put margarine and 1% milk in?  I wasn't sure about the milk in them.  Thanks,

Hi!  I have a recipe for you!

Boil squash for half an hour pretty much, mush it, add some rice cereal or multicereals (the ones for babies), some baby jarred meat, parmessan and extra virgin olive oil... It's yummy :)
