Thanks for the schedule Marika, it is brilliant!  I make my own baby food as well so we won't have a problem following the recipes.

My big concern was if my lo needed cereal twice a day.  I saw you sometimes do, sometimes don't.  I used to feed cereal only at night, than switched to morning and found he'd wake up 1-2 times between bedtime and the dream feed.  I've switched back to evenings and he doesn't wake any more.

In the second 4 weeks, do you mix the baby rice with your purees or serve it seperate?

I also don't know what swede is?   :? But so far he's loving the variety!
Cheers!

Hey, I am away so this has to be quick, I apologise that it took time to get back to you. I had an issue with cereal because she did not really like it and with her reflux I just moved the cereal into her night time bottle, if it works for you to give it in the evening then do, it is basically what I am doing i.e. fruit and bottle for tea and then creal and milk in the evening.

Swede is a root veg, similiar to cereriac or a giant white beetroot, if you can find it I recommend it, it is wonderful mixed with carrot.

Hi, any chance of getting a copy of the schedule too  :) . My email is dmanderson@veritel.com.au.
My lo is 3 months and I know I still have some time up my sleeve but am already starting to think about where to even begin.

Hi again notenoughshelfspace!!!!
I.ve been using your plan for a month now and my dd loves solids, but the BIG issue now is that she seems to prefer solids rather than milk so if I give solids first she will only have 1 oz of milk, and if I do it the other way she eats 3 oz of milk to leave space for the solids (now she knows) so can anyone tell me how to deal with that? I am giving her 3 solids a day and 2 more milk times, she used to have 6 oz of formula and now I dont know how much formula if she is having 2 to 3 oz. of solids (2-3 ice cubes). So should I decrease amount of formula or amount of solids? And how do I give them....?

Hi again! The minimum amount of formula she should be having right now is 21oz. I am not sure how much she takes in the morning and evening but say it is 7oz= 14oz. That is 7oz she has to make up during the day. Use formula to make up cereal, DO offer milk before solids even if it is only 3oz. I would not decrease the solid amount but I would not rush in increasing it. Stick to the amount now and give her milk before and after. At 6 months when the minimum is reduced to 16oz, increase the amounts again. Mine was bad at taking milk for a while and this is what worked for me. Hope that helps.
