How to wake sleep?
« on: October 03, 2005, 15:32:50 pm »
I'm not sure how to wake sleep.
Jency will only sleep for 30-45min in has crib for naps.
I have tried going in to catch him when he starts to wake (FYI: he sleeps on his tummy).  It worked once and all I had to do was slip the pacifier in (which I hate doing but it worked).  But the next time I tried he struggled and struggled and started to fuss and cry and then woke himself up.  I left him there and kept trying to pat/sh him but he just kept crying and by the time he started to settle down it was time for him to eat.
What should I do in this situation?

How to wake sleep?

I would keep trying, the wake to sleep can be one of those learned strategies-- one that you test out, and adopt to your own child. Everyone does it differently.

Here's a thread about it:

He's still young, right now you are in the heart of 45 min. country, but he'll get past this. Just keep trying!
