dd2 is now 6 1/2 months old and can still only stay awake for 2 hours how do I extend this, she is also fighting a cold and teething.

Is this normal awake time and should I extend it?

My girls are doing the same thing... but they too have just finished cutting their 2nd teeth... they seem to need more sleep now than ever? yesterday they napped for 4 1/2 hours during the day, but it was the first night EVER that they slept from 730pm-730am... I figured that when they are tired they will show me, and when they want to extend "A" time they too will show me. They actually, before the 2nd tooth, would have 21/2 hours awake time at max.... so I think if it's not broke don't fix it right?
How is your lo at night?

When DD is teething, she naps a ton!  Early this month she took a 4hr nap for 4 days in a row (oh i miss it)!

Typical A time for a 6mo can be from 2-3 hrs - it varies greatly.  Just keep following the sleep clues only extend when your LO gives you the go ahead.

Hope this helps.
