how long should i leave ds alone?
« on: October 05, 2005, 17:25:34 pm »
ok it's been over 3 hours since micah's last nap (almost 6mo) and i know he's tired, but he's just mantry crying/moaning. i want to leave him alone so he'll self-soothe but i'm worried that since his A time is so long he can't wind down by himself? but when i go in he looks at me and laughs. what to do?

Did he eventually settle down to sleep?

You may want to look at doing a pre-wind down routine.. look into the short napping after 6 months thread. And then do a longer wind down ritual, if he's overtired.

nope he's still going at it...not really hard crying though. i think you're right, our wind-down wasn't that long...a while ago i took him out and went through the wind-down again, but no luck. thanks for the link, i'll check it out.

for now, tho, i guess leave him be until he calls for me?
