Picky eater
« on: October 09, 2005, 04:40:32 am »
My dd began eating baby cereal around 4 months old, she now will only eat it if I put something else with it.  Basically I'm feeding her straight veggies and fruit, should I be trying harder to get her to eat the ceral?  My second question is about DF, I used to do this with her but we are in the process of moving and not at home, so she hasn't been DF in about 2 months, should I start again?

DO not know what DF means so can't help you out with that. As for the cereal; do you only give her rice or any other cereals. Rice is the blandest so maybe try oatmeal or barley. You really should keep on trying with the cereals as they have a lot of iron and also some other nutrients which you can not make up just with fruit/veg. If that fails ( mine was not a huge cereal fan either) try what I call 'cream of fruit/veg'. i.e. make a runny veg e.g. courgette and thicken it with the cereal. That way it is more palatable for your little one.

Gosh I feel stupid. If your little one is sleeping thorugh despite you having dropped the dreamfeed I would not start it up again, there is no need as far as I can see. A few times when my little one did not eat enough milk during the day I tried to slip her some milk during the night as a 'dreamfeed' even though I had stopped it a few months ago; it was a failure, she hardly took anything at all.I do not know if other people have found this but I found it difficult to re-introduce a dreamfeed once its been dropped.
