how old was your baby when they slept through?
« on: October 10, 2005, 11:04:40 am »
I am just after some reassurance here! Jake was sleeping throught from about 9 weeks till 11 weeks(just enough time to get used to my sleep again) But since then has woken once a night, anytime form 3.30 am to 5 am.Sometimes he babbles for over an hour, then realises he's hungry after all that chattering to his toys!
I hoped it was a growth spurt, but I wonder if its accidental parenting now?
Please let me know when your l/o slept through, and if after doing so, they then started waking again. I am feeling abit like this............

Hi Liz

Grace started sleeping through regularly at about 16/17 weeks (which was handy because I went back to work full time when she was 18 weeks). She still had a couple of nights were she would wake up after that but probably 90% of the time she slept 7 till 7.

He'll get there - even though it sometimes feels as though you're taking one step forward and two steps back!

love
Marie

Mine slept through from 10 weeks till 5 months ols, in the past month however she is waking up at least 4 times a week, sometimes once, other times up to 3-4 times. It is very easy to get her back to sleep but I am getting worried now...........

Depends on what your definition of "sleeping through" is.  If it's 5-6 hours as some would define it, Stephen was probably 6-7 weeks and Zachary was 4ish months.  If you mean actually sleeping through and all night (10-12 hours) Stephen was 10 weeks and Zachary was 7ish months.  Just goes to show how different babies can be.   It'll happen with your lo and just keep watching your baby for clues of what he might need to get more sleep.  At this age, he probably still needs that night time feeding.  Don't push it too hard....you might end up frustrated!

totally depends on your definition of sleeping through the night!  :D

8 hours - jaina was 9 weeks; luke was 10; they were both doing 10-12 at night by 12 weeks.

luke did have a period of waking at 4 months - he would just babble, etc. & drift back off.  typical developmental age - wanted to practice his new skills.
