Hi
Just wondering if anyone can give advice, my 17 month old son Ben will not go to sleep unless I am in the room with him. He isn't a clingy child during the day and even on a night, he doesn't want to come out of his cot or be held, he sometimes likes to feel my hand on his face or just to see me sat there is enough but if I try to leave before he's asleep or I creak a floorboard on the way out, that's it, he's stood up and the sleep process has to start all over again! I can be sat there for ages sometimes and feel it's my fault maybe for being in the room when he was smaller. He did go through a phase where you could leave and he'd fall asleep after a bit of whinging but now he'll just cry and cry and cry until I go back. The daft thing is that if you leave him to cry for a while and then go back, within less than a minute of me being in the room, he's fast asleep. He's still waking probably twice in the night, not specifically for anything but unless I sit with him till he goes back to sleep he'll just cry. Does anyone know how to help. The pick up put down isn't applicable I don't think, cause he doesn't want to be held, he just wants to see you.
I'd really appreciate any advice as my husband sleeps like a log and this is all down to me to sort out.
Thank you so much.
Katie xx
