Please look at my lo's schedule-where am I going wrong????
« on: October 12, 2005, 11:05:05 am »
Please can someone look at the below schedule and see if there is anything I can do to improve night wakings?  I am getting really tired now and go back to work in 4 weeks full time.  I know I am really going to struggle if this carries on and I feel sooo helpless!

7am awake
7.30am 6oz bottle
8.30am cereal
play for 1 hour
9.30am sleep for approx 1.5 to 2 hours
11.30am 4-6oz bottle
play for about an hour
12.30am luch with pudding
play for half an hour to an hour
1.00pm-1.30pm sleep for approx 1.5 to 2 hours
3pm 6oz bottle
playtime
4.30pm dinner with pudding
6pm bath
6.30pm 6oz bottle
7pm bed
10.30pm wakes, takes approx 4oz bottle
3am wakes, takes approx 4oz bottle
6am wakes, settles back till 7am

Sorry its so long, hope it makes sense!

This routine sometimes varies slightly, ie he doesn't take the 6oz bottles, sometimes takes only 4oz, also sometimes the sleep isn't 2 hours.  I have just given an example of a typical day.

Thanks for taking the time to read xxx[/b]

hiya

I dont think your doing anything wrong-your schedule is the same as mine..when he wakes during the night do you think hes waking cos hes hungry or out of habit?...my baby boy was in a habit of 4am waking...i stopped feeding him and just tryed to settle him back down...it was hard work...but i knew he was gettin enough in the day and knew it was habit and not hunger...i do sympathize some babies will just sleep through when there ready...

Does he not have a nap between 3pm and going to bed at 7pm??Four hrs is a long time to be awake. My ds is also 20 weeks he has a nap around 9am-11am then 1pm-3pm and then a catnap around 5ish just so he doesnt get too overtired before going to bed.

Hope this helps xx :)

Thanks for the replies....will try the settling without feeding in the night (though tried it a few nights ago and it all went pear shaped, he was soooo angry and it took AGES to calm him down!), will also try the nap before bedtime.
