My 8 month old is early waking and there is no pattern
« on: October 13, 2005, 12:52:43 pm »
:x My 8 month old son is in a fairly regular routine, but he is, about once weekly, waking up anywhere from 3.30 to 5.30 in the morning and nothing I do seems to help.  He rarely has problems going to sleep, but if he wakes up during the day after having a short nap, and is obviously tired nothing I do seeps to help him go back to sleep. He never wakes up calm anymore, he always cry's strait away. I have just moved into a flat where everyone around me can here him cry, which is making everything more stressfull. Help.   Mary

Actually sounds to me like he is overtired.
What is your day routine like?
I would try putting him down for his naps a bit earlier & a big earlier at bedtime, or an extra nap.

He's having three naps, as he doesn't sleep for longer than 3/4 hour very often.  Though he is not as happy to have the afternoon nap any more, but if he does go to sleep I normally have to wake him for his tea at five. I can't seem to make him sleep any more than he does during the day.
