Naomi, you are not a party pooper at all.  I can understand that it is a sensitive issue for many people.  I am so glad you said something.  I hope that I didn't offend or turn anyone off by discussing it.  Thanks for speaking up.
Sophie started commando crawling today...for daddy :)
Jody that was a funny comment about changing from the baby spit up shirt...do I have any non-spit up shirts any more?  I don't think so...I keep buying new ones (white and black...so basic) thinking OK, I will only wear these when I am sure I won't get spit up on, which of course ends up being never...so they are all spit up t's now.  I keep thinking when I go back to work I'll have to wear my bathrobe over my clothes up until I walk out the door :)
Ankie, it must have been so nice to have a two hour block of time to do anything..sleep or whatever!  Just two hours to yourself.  I second Richelle and hope the good nap turns into a good night.
Richelle and Micky, small world eh?
Time to go watch a movie.
We just got the BEST bibs in the mail today. I ordered them from baby center...they are called super bibs by bumkins.  Also got a gift for Sophie (probably her only one from us) we got her a Haba pull toy that changes from a boat to a car and has little mice that ride in it.
We were out shopping a bit tonight downtown and saw the funniest onsies/rompers by Wry Baby that said things like "I am not an elf" or "I will egg a house" , I will get wasted at my prom"  Pretty funny...my favorite was "I might throw up" That would be perfect for Sophie.
OK Ladies, ttfn hope you all had great saturdays and see you in the chat tomorrow hopefully.  I might be late...I'm not sure how things are going to go.  We finally got LTGF back on a 7pm bedtime yay!  But that's right in the middle of the chat so we'll see.
If I don't "see" you have a great chat...
Hannah

Jody - We are sending out Christmas cards with pictures, though we're not even getting Katie's picture taken for another 2 weeks.  Like Judy, I LOVE getting pictures in cards, but I'm also with you in wondering whether or not everyone appreciates all the work in sending out cards.  We send out something like 80, but I know I"ll be lucky if we get 30 back.  (Probably at least 30 are to DH's enormous family and we get very few back from them.)  Oh, and I wouldn't be surprised if your odd wake ups had everything to do with teeth - I find we have all sorts of odd things happening when teeth come in.

Bec - lovely picture of Halle!

Richelle/Micky - totally small world!

Katie and I spent the day with a bunch of girls I went to college with.  We had a lovely time - DH is out with his friends as we speak - hoping he makes it home in a semi-sober state at a decent hour as we have much to do tomorrow and I hate when he turns into DUseless (love that!) for the entire morning.  Though when Katie was up for almost 2 hours (!) last night (think it's the T-word striking again!) he certainly did pitch in when I was at my wit's end and got her back to sleep.  Ever have one of those nights when you just CAN'T handle the screaming baby?  That was me last night.  Hope tonight is better.

Judy- I think the pic you have as yor AVATAR (?) is perfect for a Christmas card!  I keep EVERY picture I have gotten in a special album ( Im a geek arent I?)

Erin- I don't think I even get 5 Christmas cards all year.... It's not that we are unpopular ( trust me we are nice people withmany friends ) I just don't think our friends think of it as a great gesture anymore... I love the idea! I keep all the pictures in an album so I too can see how our friends babes have grown...

Hannah- I have a very small area in my closet that I know I will keep clothes with out baby barf on them... they are my "nice" Clothes. This includes 1) a nice pair of sweats, 2) a 3 year old comfy tank top I like to wear out 3) a new shirt I bought 3 weeks ago, that just hasn't met it's match with the barf babies yet... soon though I can feel it.

Well we will chat later!!!

Naomi-glad you brought that conversation to an end...didn't quite feel right mixing porn talk with talk of Taylor KWIM?  I am not a party pooper and am in no means a prude (ask DH), but porn for me is a very sensitive issue (not sure why it bothers me so much, but it REALLY does-if dh watched not sure he would be dh actually).  actually I think I know why it bothers me so much...I know my dad watched it and it kind of hurt my parents marriage, and a kid shouldn't have to know that stuff about their parents.    the chat tomorrow is definitely the arena to talk about it though!    okay, nuff of that.  BTW, I could work on a pu/pd bullet point thingy for you...when would you need it by?

so glad to hear sophie commando crawled today!  yeah for her!  we are anxiously anticipating the day Taylor does it...actually last night at bed time she started crying and dh found her in the position pushing her head up against the bumper and dh had a little talk with her.  he said, "Taylor, now is not the time to be testing out your skills, now go to bed."
Hannah-regardign the funny onesies...not to give too much away, but our company is kind of along the same lines.  Funny, sassy onesies and t-shirts and pants.  Also t-s and pants with original artwork on them.  there really seems to be a market out there for that kind of stuff.
BTW HANNAH-check your PM's.  I sent you one this morning.

what else?  oh yeah Judy, WOW on the bomb you dropped about a previous marriage.  you sound so happy now and it sounds like dh is an amazing father and husband.

Ankie-glad you at least got a good nap, even if the night was bad :(

Jody-we are sending out cards with a pic of the 3 of us.  usually we do art and I with the 2 dogs and cat, but this year the animals are gettign the boot!  it's all about us and baby T! :D

:?: BTW, anyone else with animals jsut not have the patience for them anymore like you used to before the baby?  I feel awful because our older dog Maddy was like our baby...totally spoiled her and thought I couldn't love anything more than I loved her.  but then you get a baby and realize you were nuts because you love the baby soooo much more.  I just find myself getting annoyed with her... :?

okay, I know there were othere people to respond to but dh just came in with the puppy dog eyes

Yeah for Sophie!!! Can't keep her down now, Hannah!

Andrea... there is a boutique here in a specialty mall called "Kid's Only Market" on Granville Island. They carry cute organic cotton onesies that say, "pumpkin", "peanut", "sweetpea", "monkey", and other common terms of endearment for los. Also, they carry hard to find "relative" related stuff... i.e."I dream of being as sophisicated and charming as my Aunt", "I'm (going to be) a big brother." etc. I love this store and shop there (although I shouldn't be shopping at all) because they have hard to find, cute and unique stuff. I am SO looking forward to your line of children't wear!!!

Jody... I also keep all the pics I have received with cards, etc. in an album. People always want to look through this album when they come over. They know I do it and when they look and find that they forgot to send me a picture, they are disappointed and for sure, I get one the next year! We got our Christmas portraits done last week and we are sending them out first week of December.

Okay... trying to attach pictures... Arwyn was in her sling for a walk around the house... Daddy and Arwyn after portraits at Sears... and Arwyn waiting to go out (we put her in her bumbo by the door while we run around, getting all our stuff)

Hi Everyone,

It's Sunday night here and dd has just gone to bed - yeehaa - so here I am again checking all the posts. There is not as many on the weekends is there?? We had a lovely day today, we went into town to meet friends for a bbq. Some had flown over from WA on their way to Chili, picking up some friends here on the way. The BBQ was overlooking one of the beaches. Halle was sooooo good considering she woke from her morning nap at 10.30, only had about 20min nap in the pram at the bbq and then in bed at 6.50.  :D I love it when she is good like that because it gives me so much more confidence to get out and do things. In the beginning I was so sure I was going to be stuck in the house forever wearing my pj's, eating vegemite toast and carrying around crying baby!!

Thanks so much for the lovely comments about Halle. Roz - I get so many comments about her eyes it is amazing (proud mum here  :) ) Hey and what's this 'Nutty Bec' stuff??

Jods - sorry about you nearly peeing your pants

Ankie - love the pictures, especially that hat !!!!

Jo - I would love to meet up next time you are in Newcastle!! Make sure you let me know.

Andrea - that cracked me up about what your dh said to Taylor!! What size is your clothing going up to? I suppose you should tell me what age as your sizes are probably different from ours. That is so true about the animals. My younger dog, Abby, was my little baby. Sometimes if you leave the gate open a little to long she will take the chance and just take off to chase some kangaroos or whatever. I would go look for her, calling out, panicking and almost being in tears if she was gone too long. This morning she took off and was gone for ages and I was like "yeah she'll be back". My poor old horses don't get much attention these days either but I am sure they would prefer it that way.

hi there girls, how are you all doing today!
Andrea- thanks for the thought of tofu, I think I will try some with Riely as we are trying to go back to our vegetarian diet now, I am like a ravenous beast when it comes to burgers when I am pg, takes a while for the craving to go away.
I too am finding it a little tough finding the time for my cats, I have three, bud, buster and figaro. put the first two names together and that is what I named them after, a budbuster, kwim....yup, total 360 degrees from the way I used to be in life.
Is anyone elses lo doing the non crawling thing or am I the only one, Riley is still debating between crawling and walking, but she seems more interested in standing at the mo, even likes to let go with one hand, little daredevil that she is...haha
Oh, andrea, the bullet point thingy for pu/pd, I guess sometime before the end of the month is good, I tried explaining it to dh before, but I think he was overwhelmed by it to be honest, if you want you could pm or email me the points...thank you soooo much for that hunny.
I had a totally nuts thought last night about this meet up idea, what about a cruise in the carribbean, a good vacation for everyone, just a thought but it would be sooo cool.
k...I am done for now, I will "see" you all later my fine ladies.

my gosh, so much to comment on when I'm gone for a day. And not even a whole day at that :D

Richelle-so exciting about it being your last week.  And I think this was your quote "
Quote (selected)
the last time I saw her i probably had a ciggy hanging out of my mouth and a beer in one hand, a tequila in the other and I belive there was some joking around about a threesome or my DH watching her and i kiss?
  that was hysterical!

Jody- I love getting any christmas card-pics or no pics.  And I'd like to propose something girls.  If everyone doesn't mind emailing me their addresses I'll compile a list and email it out to everyone. That is...if everyone is interested in getting pics of our BW los?

okay, little man only slept an hour...wanted 1.5...will continue this later tonight or tomorrow.  we have company all day when we get back from santa pics

OK, girls...I'm finally back after a weekend of camping and 2 weeks of sickness being passed around our house. (Thanks Richelle for pulling me back in!). I'm sure I've missed so much since I've been gone. Maybe someday I'll go back and catch up, but for now, I'm just going to say "hello" and "I'm back." (Did you miss me?  :D )

Like I said we've been sick around here. Olivia had a sinus infection (and then I got it, now DH has it). It was a rough week...but I think we're out of the worst of it...just in time to have company and travel for the holiday!

Well, hope you are all doing well. I missed my support group! Gotta run...I'll check back soon.

Traci - I'm up for the Christmas card list.  If others are, I'll email you my address.

Ankie - lovely pics.  I love her in the Bumbo while you're getting ready.

So I've given Katie formula at her noon feeding every day since Thursday.  We're also had some rough nights the past few days.  However, she's also pretty stuffy and coughing, drooling lots, chewing on things...you get the picture.  I can't decide if it's the formula or teeth or a cold (or the position of the moon or the way the planets are aligned...you KWIM).  Any thoughts on this one?  I'm thinking of giving her the formula at a different time today and seeing if it makes a difference.  Right now, she seems to be waking up 11-12 hours after I give it to her -- seems to long to me to be a reaction...but what do I know?

Andrea - if you get something bullet-point worked out about PU/PD I'd love to see it too.

Hope to see you all later, if I don't just give up and go to bed right after Katie goes to sleep.

hi girls!

nancy...good to see you back!!  I thought my typing skills had scared you off for good!  :D

Erin- IMO I think she is teething.  If she was going to have a reaction to the formula it would be within an hour or so of giving it....or she would be constipated from it. Jack has also been having some bad night wakings too lately.  He cries out almost once an hour but usually able to resettle himself.  Last night one of the times he couldn't resettle so I went in and gave him some tylenol then he slept for 2 hours until it was time to get up for the day.

Traci-I'm totally game to send you my address. Let me know. :D

Richelle- What a small world.  I wasn't sure if you would know them.  I have no clue how big the islands are so I wasn't sure if I was going to seem like a moron for asking!   I just heard lately (I don't see much of them unfortunately) that Sandy is a woodworking apprentice and that she cut the tips of her fingers off in a table saw!!!    YOUCH!!!!!!!

Jody-sorry for not getting back to you about meeting you at the mall...i forgot and DH has been feeling like I've been either attached to this computer or out shopping!   Also I can't stand being near WEM at x-mas time esp on the weekends!

Erin--Olivia has also been waking at night. She lets out a scream, too, then usually settles herself back to sleep. It started a day or so before she got sick, so I thought it was related to that. Actually, I thought she was teething for the first couple of days, until she started having a fever. Then I figured she's come down with something. The night wakings are doing better now that she's almost over the sinus infection. I wonder if it's related to the sickness, or if it's just a developmental thing at this age if your LOs are doing the same thing?
