Wow, 3 pages of reading to catch up on!

I too wouldn't worry about 12hrs night sleep without feeding - we've had it a few times and I dream of them again...

Karen, yes I was talking about the plunket/watties guide - I think strawberries are a possible allergy food so I think I waited until Nathan was 12mths old before giving them to him (well it was probably longer since it was winter at that time).  I do remember wondering why it wasn't mentioned on the list though.  I also used the BW weaning guide, of course it doesn't cover all foods thoough.  There is a really good website called http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com that I found useful with Nathan.  Oh and no I've never received any info saying not to homemake carrots.  :?

Judy, I'm not surprised your dark side came out - I'm don't know how you do it, I feel bad when mine shows which fortunately isn't all that often lately thank goodness.  Probably helps that Nathan's been going to pre-school 2 mornings a week.  Mind you I'm less tolerant when he's been up screaming in the night 10+ times and it's him and not Danielle making me tired.

Loving all the Halloween pics everyone!  We don't really get into it in a big way like that over here.

Kate, what a guy your hubby is, glad they're both safe.

Naomi, good luck in getting that job.

Well I only muddled through with the 1st BW book, it was quite vague but gives a lot more background info and I found it a really good read.  I haven't got out my BWSAYP one for ages, probably need to have a wee look again soon.

OK, off to do some housework while Danielle naps - maybe she'll do a 1.5hr one this morning.

Where to start....photos, ohhh they're all so cute. I wish we could have a reason to dress up here. Halloween just isn't really done here, although if I recall correctly last year a group of airforce base kids all turned up on the doorstep. Note to myself to get some treats!

Kate, glad all is okay after the fall. That must have been so scary, good on DH for saving Ryan.

Naomi, as someone else mentioned, the longer the interview the better (usually) so that's positive. And if it didn't work out, it's good practice for the next one!

Holly, I'm definitely with the other girls in getting the routine working. You won't know yourself when you do. This site is fabulous for support, I found the sleep section really good, even just reading other peoples problems you often find solutions to your own.

Karen, I've got the plunket/watties sheet Nikki is talking about. It's quite colourful, A4 size, has a list of foods and at what ages they can have each thing. I've just put it up on my fridge and feel more confident already about foods. Now, I just wish Daniel would eat!!!! Grrrrr

We've had another batttle thismorning with food and sleep. After 3 hours awake time, I had to give him another b/feed to get him to go to sleep. He did go into his cot awake at least. I think it's been since he's off his food that he hasn't gone down for his morning nap. I'm wondering if it's cos he's still hungry, but he doesn't want his solids. I ended up ringing Plunket thismorning and she's said to skip breakfast, just give him his b/milk, then give him lunch before b/milk then for dinner do b/milk first again then solids, and finally b/milk before bed. So I'll try that for a couple of days. She also suggested putting Daniel in the h/chair for play time too, not just eating, so he has fun in it again. With toys, watching me etc. So, I"ll try that too.

Just when everything was going soooo well it's got all mucked up.

My good news is Daniel slept thru again from 6.30 - 5.30am. I do have to feed him then as he screams the house down if I don't go to him and feed. If he makes it until 6.30am I'd be willing to start our day then, even 6am I'd consider it. I'm just scared if I start his day then, he'll always be that early, and that's not what I want. But if I keep putting him back to bed and waking him at 7am then hopefully oneday that will be when he wakes. What do you girls think? If I get him up at 6am is that going to set his clock for good?

Well, now he's asleep I better go do some things.

I back again, it is so great to have internet back I can't stay away, also taking the day off....

Hayley, I don't mind that Sophie gets up at 6 or 630 but I get up for work at 430 so I have never tried to get her to sleep longer.

Well, I have fed Sophie tomato, orange, papaya, mango, strawberries and was about to try yogurt (yo baby brand) bad mommy???? She hasn't complained maybe I was just lucky?  You are right that there is alot of conflicting info out there...

Hayley,
just a quick note, not sure whether getting him up at 6 will make that a set wake up time.  I think 12.5 hours for night sleep might be asking a lot though.   You certainly can't blame him for being hungry at 5:30 when he wakes.  How often has he slept through like that?  maybe his body is still adjusting and he might go a touch longer once he's back on his solids.

richelle-i believe papaya and mango are okay.  but citrus and strawberries are apparently a no no.  That's great that she's been okay...but I'm not sure you if you should continue to feed them to her as I believe they are an allergy risk.  someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

Holly-2 hour naps are more typical of 4-5 month olds but your lo is likely overtired so you might encounter one. I wouldn't let him go too much longer. When you're focussing on setting up the new routine though Tracy says to wake them when it's time to feed.  You also wouldn't want an afternoon nap running too late and interfering with his bedtime.  HTH

Hello all!

Bec... Arwyn doesn't do a head tilt but she has this habit of looking down when I carry her so it looks very funny because it seems like she is just watching the ground go by (well, she is) and people comment on it all the time!

Naomi... good luck with the job!

Judy... UGH! A business trip without you to ITALY? Bummer you couldn't join him.  I really tip my hat off to you, I don't know how you manage with your crew of 4. I, for the first time in a long time, managed to have dinner ready when DH arrived home today. And, it is not fully ready, he is finishing it as I post!

Andrea... cute ears! Wow, Taylor is very tall! Arwyn is in the 97th percentile and we all wonder where she gets the tall genes from. I am 5' 0" and DH is 5' 7" so... :?:

Kate... I am so glad Ryan is okay and I hope your DH recovers from his bumps and bruises. He needs extra hugs and kisses I'm sure   and you have the CUTEST monkey ever!

Lisa... hope James is doing okay with cutting his 3rd tooth!

Richelle... glad to have you back after Wilma cut you off. So happy that you guys are okay. I know you resigned... how are you feeling about it?
I ditto Traci on the citrus and berries and would wait until 12 months. I was also told the same thing about tomatoes (does anybody else know?)

Traci... I LOVE SHOPPING! I only wish I could go and buy stuff I would like to wear right now instead of waiting for these extra pounds to go away! Funny that Holly is the woman you were talking to, eh?

Nikki... Congrats on the weight loss!

Hayley... Arwyn is going through a solids strike. It is hit and miss whether she will take them or not. Today she did but the past week was a nightmare getting her to eat. She loves her finger foods (Cheerios) and I thought at first it was texture but ???

I am concerned about Arwyn being shy around strangers too. I don't really want a clingy baby as she isn't one right now and has kinda spoiled me for that.

Erin... Katie can bear crawl?? Congrats! Arwyn is dying to move... she gets onto all fours and rocks like crazy but can't move forwards. She is starting to move backwards and this p!$$es her off!

Karen... good luck with going back to work on Monday! Bring a picture to put on your desk  :)

Micky... CUTE "Jack"-o-Lantern! :D

Holly... how has the day been?

To everybody else... hope the days are going well and looking forward to hearing about all your los' adventures!

HI   LADIES,

This new poster is still around!  The weathers been great so we/ve been outside a lot.  Any hockey fans out there?  I really didn't miss it while it was gone but it sure is fun to have  people come over to watch the games. :D

I still need to catch up on all these posts and take notes so I can remember who's said what!  It's a good reason to hand off Sol to DH as soon as he walks in the door.
to be cont...

Roz, when you hit reply to post, scroll down the page further and you will see all ours replies underneath...

I'm envious of you gals having Cherios...I wonder what we can offer as an alternative, are they anything like pretzels?  They're just a soft cereal type thing right?  What is the sugar content in them, we have some things called nutri-grain but I'm sure that's loaded with sugar.  Oh well, back to the crackers (I'd better find some wheat free ones though with Nathan now being wheat allergic, it's likely Danielle will be too).

Wow to all those babies on the move - who elses bubs still have their tummies firmly planted on the floor?  D's trying to lift her butt slightly and goes backwards a little, but she's really content to just lie there on her tummy propped up by her hands.

Right, I managed to do an exercise workout with Nathan STILL romping around his room, grrrr, I hate it on days he takes ages to sleep cause then we're confined to the house in the afternoon and it's such a gorgeous day out there.  And DH isn't going to be home to help tonight so I can see there'll be meltdowns from one or other of them LOL.  At least D is having a nice big sleep.

Hey girls!  Still here.  DH is back! :D  :D  and we made it through the weekend!  Last night we were so tired, (he from his trip and me from not sleeping well) that we went to bed at 8:45  !   Sometimes he drives me crazy, but its great to have him back.

Welcome Holly!  You've gotten great advise.  It is hard to implement BW, but its totally worth it.

Nikki- Claire isn't mobile yet either.  She just figured out rolling about 3 weeks ago :? .  So I'm not holding my breath for crawling.  She's really grabbing at things though and gets frustrated when they're out of her reach.

Judy - You are an amazing woman, I can't get things done around here with 1.  Can't even imagine 4.  My grandmother had 16  .(We're Irish Catholics  )  She's so funny though.  When I call and ask her for advise, she says, "Oh hunny, I don't even remember!" I think she was in survival mode raising all those children!

Kate- Good save on DH's part!  Your hero!

Traci - Soooo jealous about the shopping and Cole sleeping through  Congratulations!

Oops gotta run!  Love the costumes!  Claire is going to be a bee.  I ordered her costume from Babystyle.  She looks sooo cute.  Can anybody help me with posting pictures???  Sorry, I'm pretty computer illiterate    Do I click on attachment?

Hello everyone :D
Nikki- Sienna is still firmly planted on that tummy--on her back she does what looks like buttock exercises-raising her hips up and down very funny to see but gets her absolutely no where- Must say I am slightly anxious about seeing her start rolling properly and making a little more effort!
She seems perfectly content to just watch the world go by at the moment.
She has accomplished eating without too much fuss!! What an appetite-hardly trys to mush it just swallows and opens for more
I was wondering what Nathan's condition was exactly--?You mentioned he had been diagnosed with something(can't recall the spelling) a few posts ago...sorry if you have explained this already and I have missed it.
