Roz... we have Arwyn in a rear facing convertible car seat. We had to move her out of the infant car seat when she reached the length limit of 66 cm. Apparently, it is whichever limit they reach first... length or weight. Arwyn was only 16lbs when we switched, I think. Same regulations as everywhere else... a year old before they can face forward.

Hmm my pedi doesn't measure K&H's lenght.  He always did with Sarah but I am assuming that with the two of them and all the tears that it just doesn't end up being that important.  But according to the charts put out by formula companies they are like 5th percentile for weight! :)  Z&S were like 95th or even off the charts at this age!!

DF - I don't do one with K&H but I dropped Sarah's when she was 7months old - just dropped it cold turkey one night and she never noticed.  I was nervous because it was a bottle she was getting and she drank a full 8oz.

Ok - things were perfect last night.  Fed at 6.30pm, bed by 7.30pm (they fell asleep feeding so I took advantage of not having to get up right away) and then fed Kaia at 6.20am and Hannah at 7am.  Kaia woke with a dirty diaper and didnt seem needing food but I didn't want to struggle with her to go back to bed at 6.15am.

Oh and as for the rough nights/days gals - can I just say the full moon is coming and I KNOW it makes a huge difference around here.  At least for the older girls - haven't noticed an effect yet on the littlest ladies here but let's face it, they've been a handful since day one and with the crazy nature of this house at times I probably just don't notice it.

Ok I gotta scoot... I fed Kaia at 6.15 and put her back to bed at 6.30am.  She was chatting and squeeling in there when I got Hannah up just before 7am and I told dh he may have to get up and get her while I fed Hannah.  Well now she's quiet and it's 7.30am...   nice and all but litte miss Hannah here is wide awake.. and I prefer to keep them on a fairly similar schedule.  Gotta see if she's sleeping.

Ohmy that was tough getting caught up!  It was a holiday here yesterday!

Roz - ROTFLMAO - I sooo know what you mean about the extra kid on the weekend - or 3 day weekends, plus I worked all weekend but had yesterday off and sent DH to the grocery store, while there he called me 7 TIMES   AND still forgot baby food (main reason for the trip) and milk......sigh......who raised these men?  MIL is here for a visit at the end of the month must inquire further!

Great pics everyone, DH took one of Sophie and I finally yesterday.  I was doing some picture work with Sophie's pic's and he made the comment that there are no pic's of the 2 of us and snapped a couple.

Ankie - I hope you had an OK night.  If not I reallyhope that Arwyn naps well so that you can rest.

Jody - Welcome, how cute are your los?  I love the names as well!

Holly - Hang in there!

Sophies Birth weight 9lbs8oz 56cm:shock: 6month weight 19lbs15oz 70cm

Andrea - I am going to get her a Britax Seat today, the marathon as well, i think that is it anyway.  She is still in her infant seat - BADMOMMY  !  It is terrible i know her whole foot & up part of her calf hangs over the edge and it creaks and cracks when I try to carrry it with 'chunk the baby' in it!  It is better than some, this island is horrible for not strapping kids in, carrying them in the car ect.....

Anyway will attach pic - not the best but oh well!

have a fab day everyone!  I am cleaning the house today so I am sure I will be here posting again soon!

Good Morning :D

I know it was posted before, but can someone refresh my memory for those of you freezing your food in cubes, can you tell me again, how many tbsp are in one cube...just wondering.  Thanks

Anyone else having trouble getting their lo to eat peaches?  Brady loves his solids...LOVES them...actually veggies more than fruit.....but hates peaches, having an awful time getting him to eat them....spits them out at me... makes funny faces etc.....

Well, I can't even give a detail outline of our night last night as we were up too many times to remember, I didn't get a chance to even write it down...  all I can say is I'm going on about 2 hours sleep and not in a row, all over the place, 15min here or there etc.  Sorry just needed to vent a little. Last night was very hard :(

And I have a very unhappy boy to say the least now. It sure shows.

Hope you all had a better night. :)

Wow, we have lots of momma's up early on the computer!! I will have to tell DH that I am not the only one so he will stop harrassing me about it!!

Holly:  Sorry you had such a tough night   :(  ... hopefully you will get some naptime today. I think there are 2 tbsp per food cube.  I know what you mean about peaches!!  Carter loves everyhting I have given him but peaches!  I have given him the jarred kind and even ones I made myself and he still doesn't like them!!  Weird!!

Roz:  We are still using a rear seater too *bad momma here*  He is way too long for it (the seat says it only goes to 27 inches)

Richelle:  Very cute pic!  She sure looks like a cuddle bear!!!

Andrea:  Our families are just about the same height!!  I'm 5ft10in, DH is 6ft2in and Carter is 28 and something!!

Well, it is breakfast time for Carter (apples and oatmeal today I think) so I will be back later!!

Hope everyone has a great day ... and lots of long naps!!!  :D

Roz, Cole is in a Britax Marathon.  I didn't realize it was law in Canada to have him rear facing up until a year..I just did it by choice.  It take up a LOT of space rear facing.  Only small people can sit in the front passenger seat now.  Our infant seat (Peg Perego) was only good to 20lbs or 26 inches.

Holly-so sorry about your rough night.  Lets aim to meet up tomorrow...you need some sleep.
Here is some solid food info from BWSAYP, page 149

How Much Solid Food Equals One Ounce of Liquid?

1 cube= 1oz
3tsp = 1 Tbsp = 1/2 oz
2Tbsp= 1 oz.

HTH

wow-you know when I get on here and there's lots posted that the thread has been busy!  hee hee

here is our night.

5:45pm sleep, no waking until feed-yay
10:05pm feed, no waking until the magic hour
1:50am pupd for 20 min, left him, asleep by 2:15
2:30 woke up again  pupd 10 min, left him, asleep by 2:45
up for day at 5:40.

He only takes one boob in the morning now so at least I know for sure it's not hunger at night so that's a relief.  I also didn't give any tylenol or anbesol.  I think he's grabbing my hands to suck and not to bite.

My only issue is that he calms fairly quickly but then it becomes a game.  he climbs up, i PD, he climbs up, I PD.  That's why I end up leaving.  I give him 3 minutes and if he doesn't quiet down I go in again.

So, not bad, getting better.  His crying actually woke DH this time.  Would you believe he'd slept through the last two nights     he came out to help but said no sense both of us being tired in the morning.  And when I went to get him for breakfast he got his bum out of bed :D

okay, gotta go shower.  Miserable day here in Toronto...might go to the mall (you're welcome to join me holly if you feel you need to get out-I'm going to scar. town though as they have covered parking).  I have a baby shower on saturday so i have to go pick out some cute clothes!!!

OH Holly - So sorry about your night, please vent all you need to, it has to get better right?  Just keep at it and stay consistent, Brady will catch on before you know it!!

Well, I have a DH Rave & Rant!!

RAVE:  Yesterday morning (a holiday so he was home for the day) when I was rolling out of bed to go get Sophie he said, no stay in bed and sleep in, I will go get her!  What a guy, so i say to him, when it is time for her breakfast there is a partially peeled apple in the fridge, peel part of it and grate it in her cereal.  I use the same apple for a few days so on the unpeeled parts i put lemon juice.

RANT:  I woke at 730 to crying, sputtering, then puking...I said forget it don't force her just give her some more milk, went back to bed.  Thought later on that was weird she LOVES her cereal, hmmm maybe it is her t%^$@#?  This morning I get the apple out and realized that he hadn't peeled a new part of the apple but grated all the yucky bits saturated in lemon juice  !  Poor Sophie - no wonder!  I called him and we had a good chuckle but  once again....sigh.....men!

Haven't got very far on the house cleaning yet heehee, well i sorted the laundry that is a start right.......?

Traci sounds like a successful night with Cole!! yay!!

Richelle - oh my!! men eh??  I know my dh never seems to hear my detailed instructions.  I used to make him repeat them back to me (after once giving Zoe a bottle and then heading out of the house leaving him with instructions to give her the bottle in FOUR hours if I wasn't back - turns out he gave it to her 20 MINUTES later and then claimed not to have heard me!!  )

richelle-I forgot to mention-what a great pic of the two of you!  you look so healthy and vibrant with your tan.  Unlike us pasty northerners!  Sophie's such a cutie.

Jo-good on you for getting out of the house!  Have you gone yet?  I would think so.  It must be the middle of the night there now    I'm trying to remember the time difference.  If 9pm Sunday here is 2pm Monday there (or thereabouts) then it's 2am or so.  Hope I got that right.  Regardless, let us know how it went.

Andrea-Cole seems somewhat disinterested in taking the second boob now, even at 10pm.  It takes him a minute or so to latch...so I'm hoping I'll experience the same as you.  I'm thinking that if I get the middle of the night feed sorted out then maybe he'll just become a better sleeper and be able to soothe himself through the 10pm one as well.  by the way Andrea-if you posted all that by memory...then you need LESS sleep.  So not fair.  I have the worst memory ever.  I have alzheimers on both sides of the family so I'm dreading my future   Also-please let us know the moment your website is up.  I've got two friends having babies, one december, one feb, and would love to get them gifts from your collection.

Did I mention to you guys Cole refused the bottle again yesterday?  It was all formula this time.  He did take 1.5 oz. when I poured it into his sippy cup though.  I think then he realized it wasn't water and refused any more.  Oh well.

OOH-I've been meaning to do the macaroni toy.  Not sure I have a suitable container though.  Anyone tried the rice in a prescription bottle yet?  I just finished our rice the other night, d'oh!

Here I am again!!  I have put in my second load of laundry and emptied the dishwasher, time for a break lol, i won't get the house cleaned by next week at this rate!

I forgot to ask earlier if any of your LO's have stopped burping after feeds?  The last 2 nights Sophie will not burp after her bedtime bottle.  we have dropped the catnap so she is pretty tired at bedtime so maybe she is that relaxed?  Last night I tried for more than 5 minutes.  This AM after her 1st bottle no burp, weird or normal?  She doesn't semm to get gas and sleeps through so I guess I am worrying about nothing.  Does anyone know when you stop trying to burp babies?

LOL Judy gotta 'em! and may I say congrats on the progress with the twins, well done!!

Hi everyone  :D  Enjoyed the chat the other night (for the little bit that I could stay for) - was working all day yesterday and had much to catch up on!

Welcome Jody, I've enjoyed looking at the pics of your twins on the photo page, nice to have you on our thread as well  :D

Ankie - Hang in there, sounds like things are rough at your house.  So much going on with these LOs, too much for them to sleep at times.

Holly - Hope things get better soon for you.  Having no sleep is the worst.

Nikki - Glad to hear all is going well with Nathan's new diet.

Naomi - When do you start the new job?  Soon, right?  I know you mentioned it the other night.

Hannah - love the couch pic, it was me who asked the other night on the chat.

Richelle - Sophie is such a cutie.  Love the red hair!  And leave it to DH to give the baby yucky fruit.  You should tell your MIL, I bet she'd yell at him for that (I know mine does whenever DH does something stupid like that.)  Oh and congrats on the TTC!  We fit in the category of not actively trying (in terms of charting or anything like that), but we're not doing anything to prevent it either.  I have to be on meds to make me ovulate when I got PG with Katie (probably TMI, sorry) so I'm not expecting anything to happen at least until I'm done BF.

Roz - we too have Katie in a convertible carseat rear facing (I just checked on the law, it's until the baby is one year AND 20 lbs that they have to be rear facing.)

Let's see - Katie was 7 lbs at birth and was 14 by about 4 months - she's a little porker.  I'm small (5'3") but DH is nearly 6'4".  Katie eats a ton these days, somewhere in the neighborhood of 10 oz of baby food, plus probably a good 5-6 tbls of cereal and BF 4x a day.  On the days when she goes to day care, she's drinking about 12 oz of EBM between her two middle feeds which are her smaller ones.

We had a flu shot this morning  , so someone is a little fussy right now.  Traci, it's nasty here too, the mall sounds great.

richelle you hottie!!, so good to see a pic of you.
I saw one of you Jody on the pg boards, man, I think it is something about the bw plan, it seems to attract all the hot mums, what a bunch of milf's...lol
Erin, my job starts on nov.28th, so the countdown is on.
I think I am going to wing it on the bf for a while, I don't have the guts to go cold turkey, so I think I will work it into our daily life and go from there.
I just wanted to pop on and post about richelle's pic.
Oh yes, as for birth wieghts Vs 6mth weights.
Jay was 9lb 4oz at birth, I think he was around 19lb at 6mths
Riley was 8lb 15oz at birth and she was about 18lb at 6mths
Well that is me for now,
