Weather is pretty lousy here too!  I thought I would just pop onto the internet quick before I head out to the mall!!!  It seems like we all have the same idea about the mall!  It is a perfect day for that!

I am feeling a little better about Carter's naps as his first nap today seemed to be back on track!  He slept an hour and a half for the first time in almost 2 weeks!  I was so excited.  I didn't get to nap much myself because my ears were glued to the monitor!!  :(   Every little noise and I was straining to hear if he was waking up ...  When he finally did get up, I noticed his whole back was soaked with pee ... which makes me think he might of even slept longer if he hadn't pee'd out of his diaper!  Here's to hoping he is officially back to his old routine!  Now we just have to get rid of this pesky cold!

OK you girls are making me feel so much better for my night time lurking last night...I mean really, for all the back and forths this morning you might as well have been chatting :)

Gorgeous pics...lol about the milfs naomi...now that's a baaaad acronym...but quite humorous.

Definately feeling your pain about the dh's and instructions.  Every time I leave Sophie with dh I explain over and over again.  Even when I am right here...I feel like such a back-seat driver sometimes when he is feeding her especially.  No wonder he rarely offers to do a meal....he has to listen to my commentary on every bite...but seriously I feel like if I didn't he would do something like Richelle's yucky apple incident.  But then I figure hey, these lo's are going to have to make their own relationships with their fathers eventually anyway and just like she has to put up with my shortcomings (shortcomings? Do I have shortcomings???)  She will have to put up with her daddy's too.

Richlle, as far as burping goes, she's kind of done with the over the shoulder burping but I just sit her up and she usually let's loose and seems quite proud of herself for it these days....HTH :)

The mall does sound so good.  Traci and Holly have fun...or Holly get some sleep if you can.
Yay for Cole's good night.

I have to check my car seat now...She's still in the infant kind which before she was born I said I would never use ha ha...I thought they were silly and that I would rather have her in a sling or something...so for about 3 months everywhere we went I carried her in a sling, even into the grocery store...what a kook I was!  Anyhow, now of course I will be super sad to see it go.  I love just popping her out of the car and into the grocery cart etc. Hmmm I bet she really is too big now.

I'm finally getting my hair cut today yay!!!  I am going to ask my hairdresser if there is anything we can do to help it out so that I can start growing it.  I know that seems a little werid to get it cut in order to grow it, but it is sooo bad right now...I acually cut the sides and back myself with dh's razor cutter about 3 weeks ago because I had to cancel my cut appt.  Craziness.
I am dropping dd off at MIL's getting the hair done then going to a school inservice deal for 2 hours this evening.  Come home put the lo to bed then go for a run with my friend....by the time I check in with you guys again there'll be like 10 more pages !!!  :) It IS like my favorite show.
OK, gotta go shower and check the car seat

Richelle-forgot to mention that I stopped actively burping Cole around 5 months.  I saw another mom at a party feed her lo to sleep *gasp* and pop him in his seat and inquired why she didn't burp.  She just said he burps when he needs to.  So like Hannah, I just sit him up and he'll burp if needed, which is about 80% of the time I'd say.

Okay, pic of me will wait til I get my hair done on saturday.  I wanted to share two others though.  An adventurous one of Cole's antics and one of his room.  I'm really proud of his nursery so I thought I'd share.  DH picked the pattern (out of one of my scrapbook magazines!) and I chose the colours.  I'm going to try to attach a different way than usual...not sure it will work.  I didn't like it...back to Photobucket...i think i shrunk them too much...oh well.

Oh-Cole had a one hour nap this morning.  I carried him in the sling for 5-10 min. first.  And he's going on an hour for this one.  YAY!  Think he needed longer wind down after all.

Hello everybody... busy morning on the thread!!

We had a wake every 2 hour or so night. I stuck to my plan until 4 am where I gave in and nursed her. My problem with nursing in the middle of the night is that I fall asleep! (sitting up, no less...) Anyway, she was up for the day at 6 am. She fought me like a madwoman for her morning nap although she was yawning and rubbing her eyes. So... I very consciously decided to nurse her to sleep and to sleep with her. She only slept for 45 min.

Anyhow... will see how the rest of the day goes. We are headed out to swim lessons today... right when she is supposed to be going down for a nap.  We'll play it by ear I guess.

Richelle... love the pictures! I asked DH if I could post a picture of him and Arwyn and he flatly said no. Maybe I will manage to sneak one on anyway. About the DH rave and rant... we have similar happenings over here. I like to joke that all women go to the same "wifey/mommy school"... apparently, all DHs go to the same "DH/daddy school".

Burps... same as Sophie... sit her up and she let's 'em rip.

Hannah... still have our slings after a similar philosophy to yours. We still use them when we don't want to take the stroller. Also, yesterday when Arwyn refused to nap, I carried her in it and walked around the house for 30 min. Didn't help, mind you, but at least I felt like she got some rest.

Traci... Congrats on the great night!!! Send some sleep over here!!!

Holly... Hang in there. I am in the same boat and wish I had your determination. Nap when Brady naps... if possible. I hope you have a better night.

Naomi... MILFS? Need a mommy-brain translation please. Wow... 2 weeks until your first day! How time flies, eh?

oh GAWD, gotta go... Arwyn was crawling towards me and bonked her head on the edge of the computer desk! BBL

HI

I'm baaaaaaaaack....

Well i have the floors and the bathrooms left and the laundry is an all day - or week progression...

anyway back to the t%^^$& word, I was cleaning and had Sophie on the bed as she is clingy today, I have to be in sight.  I started palying with her on the bed and as she was laughing I noticed teeth #3 & 4 on the bottom are sprouting through the gum and then #5 & 6 next to where her front teeth will be   :?  no wonder she is clingy, jeez talk about getting a mouthful all at once.  I have given her some tylenol and she is playing happily on the floor with a MILK BOTTLE FILLED WITH MACARONI!  Great idea Hannah (I think it was Hannah)   - if I am mistaken!

Erin I think Katie was in the same boat a couple of weeks ago?  Didn't she sprout a bunch of teeth all at once?

LOL about the ilf business...
OK just wrestled the convertibles carseat into the car.  What would I do without you ladies.  She had grown out of the other one!!!!  Never even thought to check.  Funny how the lo is growing and learning faster than I am most of the. OK shower time.
Gorgeous nursey Traci...you guys are sooo creative.  You don't even want to see ours, it's a nursery/6year old's bedroom....boy/girl...couldn't really do much :)
Later kids.

Hannah-please be sure to have your installation inspected on your carseat.  Apparently 80% or so of seats are installed improperly
You should have seen the girl at the store installing ours.  she sat right on it, shoving her back into our roof to be sure it was secure enough.  just want you to be cautious.

Goodmorning, what a busy night you've all had. Holly, hang in there, it can only get better. I know we keep saying that, but it will. At least you're in the right place for support/venting/ideas. Retail therapy and coffee works a treat!

Traci, I love the photo of Cole, it's amazing to think he's climbing like that. And his room is great. One day when we have our own house again I'll be able to do things like that, for now it's just cool cloud curtains and stick up winnie the pooh decorations.

Richelle, you've inspired me to go and do my housework. Since changing our lounge around in the weekend (did I mention that?) we've got loads more room, but I've found lots of bits on the floor that were previously hiding under furniture.  And have you noticed how messy kitchen floors get now????? Or is it just our house?

Daniel slept from 6.30pm - 4.50am! Yay, no getting up at all during the night. I tried PUPD at 4.50am, but he was hungry. So tried boiled water first, nope, not interested. So gave him 100mls formula then put him back in bed and he went back to sleep. Yay again! We got him up at 7am, I think he was awake just before we went to him. He's just gone down now at 9am without a peep. I gave him another 140mls when he got up at 7am, then his breakfast of apple and banana pretty much straight after. He at a normal amount for him, so that's okay. I'll feed him solids again today before milk to see how we go.

I told DH about how a few of you have tried the macaroni/milk bottle idea, he laughed and said I should market it! I think Daniel likes it cos it's big, but light. All the rattles are small. I took a photo of him in his JJumper with his milk bottle today, so I"ll download and put it up here later.

I can't believe Sophie has so many teeth. That's awesome. It must make her look so 'grown up'. Daniel still hasn't sprouted any!

Burps - Daniel hasn't burped before bed since he was really little, like about 6 weeks. But now he's on formula I'm making sure he does. Still really only does 1 or maybe 2. During the day on b/milk I'd sit him up, if he did within a couple of mins great, if he didn't we carried on without one.

Better go, shower/housework etc to do.

Oh, quick question, those babies on full formula (ie no B/milk) how much do they have in a day? Daniel seems to want about 1 litre total. Is this about right?

Woke up this morning to 5 pages!!!!!
Have just caught up but now cannot remember a thing!
LOL on ilf, Naomi. I only learnt the term about 2 months ago and had to ask dh what it meant. He is used to me asking ditzy questions!
Gorgeous pics. Love the tan Richelle!
Sam has been in a rear facing convertible Evenfo Tribute carseat for about 2 months now as I got sick of lugging the other one round and his little feet and calves were sticking out the end. The pamphlet thing says that rear facing seats are safer (makes sense) and to keep them in it for as long as possible.
Jo, i hear you on being nervous about going to the beach for the summer hols. I am about to book our summer hol and I am nervous thinking about it. No more cosy, romantic little bed and breakfast's for us. I think that we will have to pack his whole nursery to take with us.
Great nursery Traci! Well done on the good night and I cannot believe how mobile Cole is!
Hang in there Ankie.
There is no sign of teeth here. Anyone else's los have no teeth still? Still Sam manages to gum his finger foods. Quite funny watching him!
Holly, Sam seems to hate peaches too! I think it is because the peaches are quite tart. I haven't pushed it. Will try again in a month or so.
Andrea, will you ship all over the world. Let us know when the website is up and running.
Rice in prescription bottle was a hit! Will have to try macaroni in milk bottle.
Another toy idea: empty tissue box filled with scarfs knotted together. Sam loves the box and also pulls and pulls at the scarfs.
Must try and get a nap in..working evening shift today.
