7 month old night wakings
« on: October 17, 2005, 22:11:25 pm »
I haven't posted in a long while because we finally got our naps and sleeping down, finally, I am able to just put her in her crib for naps and bedtime and she goes to sleep, with a little whining but now I don't have to rock her to sleep.  well as with most 7 month olds she is trying to crawl and stand and do all sorts of things and is starting to show some independence and now is waking up every night, anywhere between 3 and 5 am, i usually nurse her and she goes back to sleep, sometimes she just wants to talk and play in her crib, she can't seem to control her body  she wants to roll around etc...and she gets plenty of tummy and activity time during the day.  Her naps vary, anywhere from 45 minutes  to 2 hours, and she has them 2 times per day, if she dosen't nap i just give her quiet time in her crib.  with that said is it a developmental stage she is going through? and what should I do about it? or will it pass?  I read somewhere that its because she has had poor sleep training etc.....whatever to that, I have worked really hard on her napping and sleep problems.  So I am wondering if its just a phase?
thanks in advance.  Oh she is usually in bed by 7pm, she can't stay up later than that withought becoming completely wonky!

sounds very developmental to me with everything you've described.

just wait her out, and give her lots of time to practice her new skills during the day - even in her crib when she wakes up from naps!

they like to keep us on our toes, don't they?   :D
