How to work the times?
« on: October 18, 2005, 22:54:37 pm »
I am a little confused on how to keep my 2 week old on a schedule.  Sometimes it takes her an hour or more to fall asleep so do I wake her after an hour and half after she falls asleep or do I feed her  from the time she tried to go to sleep.  She is also not staying asleep when I put her down in the crib.  Someone please help?

Right now, just follow her cues, don't worry about the clock. Keep awake times short, and act on the first sleepy cue. Don't worry about the length of her EASY cycle right now.. just observe and get to know her. Swaddling is very important.

Do you have Tracy's new book? It's excellent for information on teaching sleep to newborns/young infants. I definately recommend it.

Also look at Tracy's sleep interview and the announcement at the top about teaching sleep to newborns/young infants.
