why does dd cry when she wakes?
« on: October 21, 2005, 05:31:58 am »
hi my dd is a pretty good sleeper, it would be better if she didn't wake at 6am, but hay 8pm till 6am is good, we have mostly good naps,

my question is why does she cry when she wakes?

today she slept till 6.50am, yes, i woke 6.20am anyway, habit i guess, anyway what a good night,

dd does still get bf first thing in the morning, her mood is better once she has bf, my problem is i want to cut this out next week,

any way the question, why does she cry when she wakes?

she does it after a nap also, mostly the shorter afternoon nap

thanks

I don't have any answers b/c I have the same questions.  DD cries upon waking (A.M. and all naps) - she's fine once I pick her up but it makes for an abrupt wakening for me in the A.M.  When she was a newborn, she would just hang out in her bassinet for awhile but that  stopped a long time ago.  What's going on?  She's a pretty mellow baby most of the time.

my ds often wakes INCREDIBLY grumpy, both in the am and after his nap. But then again, sometimes he sings to himself, chatters away and is happy as anything.

I've just accepted that there is no pattern, rhyme or reason to it - he's just a personality and this is one of the ways it shows - sometimes I'm grumpy when I wake up and if it was acceptable behaviour for me to scream the house down to get 20 minute cuddles then I probably would!!! KWIM?

My dh stilll wakes grumpy in in the morning & he is 44yo!!
I think it all comes down to their temprement, some people/babies just seem to take a while to adjust to being awake!
