Hydrogel?
« on: October 25, 2005, 07:41:12 am »
My LC gave me some weird sticky things called "Aquaflow Hydrogel" for my poor nips.  Anyone ever used these?  Seems kinda a pain to use as you have to rinse nipple and then put it on, then take it off and rinse nipple again b4 nursing and then rinse the thing and put it in it's package and repeat.  :?

I'd be more willing to put forth the effort if I knew they worked...

Never have ... maybe try it for a few days and see what he results are.  I'd also get a tube of regular ole lanolin ointment available at the pharmacy.  You needn't remove it before nursing as it's safe for baby.

YOu're in the hardest phase right now, Lori.  Hang in there.  In a bit you'll be in a groove all the way around.

I really, really liked using Lansinoh - which is some brand of Lanolin - it comes in a purple tube and is endorsed by LaLecheLeague - and you can get it at the drug store.  I never heard of those other things.  Good luck!

Are these the Materni Mates?  If so, then yes they worked for me.  They take the place of lanolin.  Put them in the refrigerator while nursing and the feel great afterward!   :D   Hang in there!

The other thing I used for sore nipples was a little gel-type refrigerated pad.

If you're cracked or bleeding, is this some type of wet healing? You leave them on between nursings? I would bet that works wonders.
