Milk residue on tongue
« on: October 25, 2005, 11:52:56 am »
My 3mth old ds always has a white furry tongue, always.  At one point we were told that he may have a little oral thrush and they gave me Dactarin which had no effect on it at all.

He doesn't have white patches round the rest of his mouth, so no other signs of oral thrush, but is this normal, or could he still have it?

Many thanks

Emilio had this for quite a while.  No biggie.  If you can scrape it off, with a popscicle stick, your fingernail, etc. it's not thrush.  Also, my doctor told me to leave it alone and let his body fight it if it's not bothering him.  He said that actually, only the very severe cases of thrush, which are actually not all that common, need to be treated with medication.

Just a little info that was passed on to me -- passed on to you.
