Hi All,

My 6 month son is having to move to bottle feeds due to lack of milk from mummy. We ran in to a problem with powderd milk and was given SMA Wysoy by our doctor.

Our problem is our son does not like the taste of this. We tried to add flavour by adding apples, but he just does not like it. He took to the bottle with the normal SMA milk, which he is allergic to, just wont take this Wysoy stuff.

Is there anything else on the market we can try, or any ideas would be a great help.

Many thanks

Daddy David

Hello, and welcome to the boards, it's great to see a Daddy here :D

I'm afraid I don't have the answer to your question, but I'm sorry it hasn't been answered

Can anyone help?
Caroline :)

Hi David

I'm really sorry I missed this post, not sure why it didn't show up. Is your lo responding any better to the Wysoy?

My daughter was perscribed Neocate formula (for allergic babies) and it took approx 3 weeks for her to take to this. It was little by little until at last she took a whole feed. I was lucky as I was still breastfeeding, is mum still able to feed as I would suggest trying to reinstate the breastfeeding. If not you'll need to see  your doc again about trying another milk if after a few weeks you're still getting point blank refusal.

let us know how you are getting on.

hth and sorry again
Sara

Ok it took some doing and clever tricks but he now takes the soya.

The idea was to change the flavour, make it sweet.... So i bought some cow & gate juice and added it to the milk. I could not get the bottle off him once he tasted it.

I then slowly decreased the amount of juice so that he could also taste the soya. Then after 1 week he was just drinking the soya . Magic

Thanks for all listening.
