Please help me learn how to steam food?

This may sound a little silly question, but I have no idea how to STEAM fruit and veggies. I do not have a steamer, but I do have a steam basket. What or how should I do it? Hope someone can help me... thanks.

Find a pot that the basket will fit in and put just enough water in the bottom so that it almost touches the basket. Place your veggies in the basket. Put the basket in the pot. Do not immerse the basket of veggies in the water. Boil the water until the veggies are cooked enough for your taste.

Mmm sounds yummy...
