Sleeping all morning
« on: November 03, 2005, 17:19:42 pm »
Hi.  My little 7-week-old girl seemed to be finally getting on a nice EASY schedule with our nanny (I went back to work at 6 weeks), and then this week on Monday she hardly slept at all during the day, then Tuesday she slept from 7:45 till noon, then Wednesday she did not sleep in the morning, then today she slept again from 7:45 until noon.

What is going on??  Should I have my nanny wake her up earlier on the days that she sleeps so long?

Thanks.

Absolutely.  She should not be sleeping for such long periods.  I assume she is on a four hour routine. Feed and activity should take approx. 1-1:30 (depends how long your little one can stay awake for) and then  sleep for 2:30 max. It will helpp in the long run to get her into a better routine with two naps in the day.
