not eating?!?!
« on: November 03, 2005, 23:20:11 pm »
So I need some advice.  For the past couple days my DS is refusing certain feedings.   His last feeding before bed, which is really annoying because then he wakes up two hours later and wants to eat!     Then today, he refused one this morning, and another one this afternoon.   What is going on????   Could he be teething this early?    Is he trying to push his time between feeds?

Can anyone advise me?

It could be teething, could be trying to push his bottle back too.  How long does he go in between at the moment  :D

Still about three hours.  One cycle or more a day can be four.

Thankfully tonight he took it no problem.

Hi there!

My ds, over the past few days, has done exactly the same thing; drinking only 20ml to 100ml at some feeds.  I got quite concerned and spoke to my health care nurse who assured me that he will drink when hungry/thirsty and that it was nothing to be too worried about.  Sure enough he is back on track now.

I think that I just need to let him guide me.  She also mentioned that it could be the start of teething as he seems to be dribbling alot recently.

Hi there,

My lo was born on the 12th July so is roughly the same age.  He went through a phase of not wanting his bottles and would just push them away.  The first thing I did was change the teats on his bottle to a faster flow, and he seemed to prefer this, but when his gums are giving him trouble - he will not drink at all.

Hopefully his teeth will be out soon - can see two little peggies trying to make their way through.

He went back to normal when his gums werent bothering him, and it is true, he will eat if he is hungry enough.

Good luck  :)

Thanks ladies.  Its nice to know others are experiencing the same thing.   He ended up eating great last night, so maybe it was just a two day thing? ?  We'll see...

Thank you!!!
