Is a blankie safe for 15-week old?
« on: November 08, 2005, 09:50:08 am »
Hi folks,

We just got a lovely blankie from mothercare for our 15-week old little one, this one to be exact:

http://www.mothercare.com/invt/lx0612&bklist=

We're hoping it will help her be more settled at night, have more or less weaned her off the dummy, which had become a prop so was a real problem, but she still wakes quite often and has trouble getting settled again ...

So just wanted to double check - is a blankie totally safe for a baby her age? No danger of choking or suffocation?!

Thanks!  :D

I guess you have to say nothing other than a baby is safe in the cot, as the potential is there.
That said my ds 5.5mo sucks on the foot/arm of a teddy to go to sleep & still has his wrap in there too & he rolls around like mad. Yes I do worry a bit, but I know the wrap is only musslin so he won't suffocate & I have it done in such a way that I think it would be impossible to choke him.
I know people who have had blankies like that for their lo's & had no problem  BUT there will always be a ever so small slight risk with a blankie
