Miserable, quilty mum needs suggestions
« on: November 07, 2005, 07:19:12 am »
Hi
can any please help....
our 22 month girl has just gone into a big girls bed and our lovely peaceful bedtime has gone out the window. We have to sit with her until she falls asleep, or she stands at the door and screams until we come back, and soothe her back to sleep. She is also waking duing the night and as we both work full time, sleep is vital. I know i created this bad habit, and i need to sort it. Can anyone please give any suggestions.

okay hun I will see what I can do for you.
We had kind of the same issues with our eldest.
Dh and I found that we made his bed ultra comfy, lots of teddies, a couple of pillows etc, also we have a night light in the room and give him some books to "read".
Do you have a routine at nightime so she can get used to the idea of what is going on?
I just wanted to give you a couple of ideas of what we do to see if it would help you.

Hi
Currently going through this with our 2 year old. Settled realyy well into her big bed at 16 months when we came back from US holiday at 19 months went really pear shaped. got into the habit of staying with her until asleep. Now withdrawing each evening further out of room. respond to questions and requests but leave again immediately. took an hour first night now down at 20 mins and no longer in room at all just in hallway. we are confident we'll get there just got to be strong and do it. Not sure if this helps. Good luck !
