Dropping the Dream feed

Hello--
I am just starting my 5.5 month DS on solids and was reading the plan in Tracy's book about how and when to drop the dreamfeed. I'm wondering if I should just start decreasing ounces of the dreamfeed NOW as I build up meals for DS, instead of waiting until meals are established and THEN suddenly trying to force another 6 oz. in somewhere in his day.
could someone please advise me on this?
Thanks!

i think it's best to wait until after 6 months, as there is a major growth spurt at 6 months and you don't want to be confused whether to feed or not at night.
my DS actually told me to stop DF at 7 months, about 4-5 weeks after started solid.
HTH.
