I'm drowning pull me out!

Hi,
I would like to hear from all the moms that have gotten past the 45minute nap. Did you keep trying to get them back to sleep until they started to sleep longer. Or just gave up and they did it by themselves.  Success stories, anything.

My lo isn't sleeping longer than 45 minutes no matter what. He can stay up for 2 hours but then after a short nap its back to one hour! I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Snug swaddle? Tight even? White noise? Dark room?

Otherwise, I know with Natalie one day she FINALLY slept longer more consistently, which was good since Josie often had me occupied at the 45-minute mark and I was running for the bedroom to replace the paci with limited success.....so I had to give up or I would have lost my mind AND some quality playtime with both my girls.

With Josie, I DID keep working at it, because with my PPD if I didn't get a break, I was a wreck. I'd consider giving up and going with the flow for a few days and then coming back to it. You might find a new trick, get a new idea, or notice something new about him that you can use to help you, and meanwhile you shouldn't be going so crazy trying to get sleep from a stone....or something like that!

With paci, PUPD and lots and lots of patience; mine is now sleeping or 2.5-2h in the morning  and the same in the afternoon. There is light at the end of the tunnel, I promise.         HUGS XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

I am not sure if this applies to your LO's nursery, but apparently ours was too bright for long naps, because as soon as we got blackout shades for our son's room he started sleeping for 1:20-1:30 minutes during naps. (He only used to do about 45).

Hi,

I feel your pain!!  Ours isn't a success story yet but I CAN tell you that for the past few days the afternoon nap has increased nicely on its own (we're 10 days away from 4 months).  I decided I had to take a break from wake to sleep for my twins since it was eating up every second of the day.

So progress seems to come along on its own...

Good luck to you!  I'm sure it will get better soon!!
