Still keeping an E.A.S.Y. log??
« on: November 16, 2005, 04:51:34 am »
Quick question:

Is anyone else out there keeping an E.A.S.Y. log for their child(ren)?  DS is a little over 6 months, and I'm still keeping one.  My brother laughs at me and calls me "anal retentive."  I do like to know how DS is doing.  I like to see his progress and the patterns of his day.  Do I need to give it up?  Is there a support group for letting go of the E.A.S.Y. log?   :) ("Hi, my name is Charlotte, and I still keep an E.A.S.Y. log...")

Thanks!
Charlotte

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. I keep one too, and dd wil be 8mths old this month.
I find it a good thing to do as I can follow what I am doing, and also, it helps out anyone else who maybe looking after her during the day, they can read it instead of me telling them and then they forget it.

My name is Michelle and I still keep an EASY log.

I have wondered this too!! I like the log, it makes it so much easier when the days/evenings are hectic and DH comes flying in the door after work and I have to go flying out somewhere.

We too have heard the "anal retentive" comments, but it works for us!!

I kept my log up till about 6 months when she started sleeping thru the night.  Definately keep it up as long as you need.  Also could be a good reference if another baby comes along!

DS is almost 8 mos and we still keep the log.  I actually find it very helpful now for keeping track of what solids he eats during the day as we try new foods, so I can figure out what gives him gas, etc.

olivia is 9 mo old in 2 days and i have only just stopped the logs a week ago (and what brought it about was illness where she was not eating solids for a few days and i was just focused on DID she nap and DID she drink her bottles...) i found after 3 days without it i was out of the habit.

i kept it up until alex was 1 year old though and i can say it is nice to look back sometimes as i had rose coloured glasses remembering her 1st year and it was helpful to see that she too skipped naps every now and then etc so it was not just "oh - olivia is a bad sleeper and alex was an angel"
