DD is 4.5 months and everyone is asking what she needs/wants for Christmas (she will be 6 months then).

Any suggestions on toys or other baby items you or your baby can't live without?

Thanks a bunch!

Hand-me-down toys from my ds that my 7mth old is getting into that she's been playing with for a month or so are: shape container with shapes (she's not actually trying to put them in, but it's good for them to handle different shapes - ours is the tupperware one), a leap-frog piano that plays different tunes and has a mirror on the front, a push-down spinning top toy with balls that roll around inside, she's got a fisher-price toy with holes for balls to be slotted in, and it has various spin around and push buttons, a soft rubber ball with soft spikes on the outside that feels quite nice that we bounce and roll around.

HTH :D

My DS is almost 4 months old now and we just got him a Fisher-Price Jumperoo as his early Christmas present. We decided on this instead of an Exersaucer and he loves it. Since he loves standing (with assistance at this point  ) he loves being able stand/jump in the Jumperoo. And since this is a freestanding item and doesn't attach to a doorway I don't have to worry about safety issues. So I would strongly recommend a Jumperoo.

I always suggest  books to people because your LO can enjoy them for years!!

We just pulled out a bunch of Mason's that he had when he was little so he could read them to Molly and they were both so cute, their little heads pressed together reading "I'll Love You Forever".

Thanks for the suggestions.  They all sound great.  I will pass the message on to all of my relatives eager to go shopping!
