What do you do with bumbo?
« on: November 20, 2005, 13:26:36 pm »
DD's Bumbo chair just arrived.  What kind of activities do you use it for with your lo's?  She's not quite ready for solids yet, so looking for other ideas to entertain her in it.  I did learn that you don't put a 'fluxer in it right after eating.  Good thing it's vinyl, and she did get a huge burp out too.
When you're soaring through the air, I'll be your solid ground.  Take every chance you dare.  I'll still be there when you come back down.

She sits with us on the table when we eat or when people come to see her; it is nice to have her at eye level. I have to admit I did not find it that useful I chose not to feed my little one in it anymway because the seat is work for them and when she was eating I wanted her to be comfortable so I got a highchair which has a slight recline.

You can play with blocks that she has to lean over to pick up.  Also those activity things that play music.  She can bat at toys on an activity center if you have one, you just have to move her close enough to it.

I put Dawson in it after he ate to keep him upright.  We also used it at restaurants (put him right on the table to he felt in the middle of it all).

Just to warn you -- DO NOT leave him on a countertop or anywhere above the ground unless you are within reach. Dawson has fallen out of his a couple of times and now climbs out no problem.

Wish it came with straps. :?

Here is a link to a cute picture from one of the girls on our thread (scroll down):

It is great for letting a baby watch you and still be happy.
I also brought it to church and put it in the cart at the grocery store.  Ryan loved to look around and did better than in his pumpkin seat.

We used it a lot for this and for wagon rides.   :D
