Hello and welcome. I was advised to offer both breasts by my lactation consultant, the lady from my breastfeeding class, and from other breastfeeding books I have read. So, I offered the first one until she came off or fell asleep and then I offered the second one. It really helps to stimulate your milk supply when you offer both sides as well. Although some people do have success with single side feeding it just seems like the natural thing to offer the other side, we do have two right. And if you do double side feed just always start the next feed with the side you finished on last. To make sure both breasts are getting emptied properly. So, if you end the feed at 1:00 on the right side, start the next feed offered on the right side. This is becasue the second breast offered will usually not get emptied fully and by starting on this same one at the next feed it ensures that the breast does get emptied. Which in turn helps to stimulate your milk production.
When is your baby due? Congratulations!
