does this sound strange
« on: November 22, 2005, 00:24:53 am »
just wondering about my 19 week old feeding schedule.  i just switched to bottle 2 weeks ago and at the same time he started sleeping thru the nite.  he is getting ebm by bottle.  no solids yet.  here is his routine and feed amts...does this sound like enough??

630am  bf--long feed
1030 am--bottle ebm--3.5-4 oz
100pm--bottle ebm--3.5-4.5 oz
430 pm--bottle ebm--5-6 oz
630 pm bottle ebm-4-6 oz
11pm df--6.5-7.5 oz

during the day he won't take more ebm.  he will close his mouth and turn his head.  i am just worried he isn't getting enuf ebm.  he is a big boy..19 lbs.  i have been on kellymom website and i know their intake stays constant b/w 1-6 months...could my breast milk be of such a quaslity that 4 oz would satisfy him??

Since he's happy, growing, and sleeping well, I wouldn't worry.  I think sometimes it's easier with breastfeeding directly because you don't know how much they're getting, so you don't second-guess yourself quite the same way.  I wouldn't try to get him to increase, though - if he's hungry, he'll let you know....
