« on: December 01, 2005, 21:18:45 pm »
I am not sure if this has been asked so i apologize in advance if this is a repeat question.  In alot of 2nd stage foods in my baby cookbook it calls for milk in some of the recipes, does this mean baby milk or cows milk?  if its cooked is it okay for them??  thanks :)

I use formula. I don't think it matters either way.

I think baby milk is better for them, simply b/c it has more nutrients the baby needs. The advice over here is no cow's milk before 12 months (and of course the formula companies say that's it's best to keep to baby milk until 18 months :?  ). This is in case of any allergy reaction to the cow's milk (especially if, as in my case, there is any history of lactose intolerance in the family). If you do use cow's milk, make sure it's full fat, not skimmed before the age of 5 years. (Sound like a bossy moo, don't I?  - just done a lot of research b/c of family problems with cow's milk intolerance)
Caroline :)
