Should I be dreamfeeding still?
« on: November 22, 2005, 21:57:43 pm »
My son is 6 months old and I was wondering if I still need to dreamfeed him? How do you know when it's time to stop?  Also, I'm finding that sometimes he'll wake before the time I was planning to DF him...so if I still feed him when he wakes up, will I be reinforcing a bad habit of nursing back to sleep?  In the cases where he does wake up before the planned DF, what should I do?

Thanks for any advice!

Should I be dreamfeeding still?

HI Linda, we just went thru dropping the df in our house. What we did to start was to pull the feed back before dd woke, so say she woke at 11pm then I would wake her at 10pm, that way she would be df and in bed before her usual df time.
Also What I found was a big help was having her on a EAEAS routine, where she rotates her milk feed and and a solid feed. But then again that is all on a preferance to what foods you are on at the moment.
With the df, I kept pulling it back if she woke up for the new time, so hopefully she would sllep that bit longer each time we adjusted her feed.
I hope that helps you hun, good luck, let me know if you need anymore ideas.
