where should my baby nap?
« on: November 24, 2005, 17:43:30 pm »
Hi, I was just wondering if I should be putting my baby in his crib for his naps.  I usually put him in his playpen for naps, I was told it helps them differ between day time naps and night time sleeps?  What do you recommend?

Hi!

I'm not sure which is "correct" since I have read about the importance of day/night differentiation and also about the importance of teaching baby that the crib is the place for sleeping.  So far in our house, I alternate between the pack and play and the crib because I have twins and since we're sleep training for naps I need them separated for the time being.  I'd be interested to see the other responses.  Right now, my babes (4 months corrected) don't seem to care one way or the other if they nap in the crib or the p&p.

Best wishes to you!

Sarah

Twins!  You are all wonderful moms!  Some times I go nuts with one!  When I've had it,  I let ds sleep in his swing (BW forgive me) but he will always sleep at least 1.5-2 hours straight through.  If I put him in his crib, we end up playing the 45 min nap game.  I've tried to be as consistant as possible using his crib (using the swing once a week, maybe, just so I can get some housework done) so he knows that is where you sleep.  Ahh, the wonderful world of napping!
