Thanks for the hugs girls, needed them.
As for Brady, he's fine, I know he is, it was just me worrying too much.
I have a very healthy boy here, nothing wrong with him at all...lol, keeping me on my toes, I was just scared and went off the wall too soon. After giving it more thought and feeling it, it seems fine....thanks for listening to my antics though.....now if I can just get my dad and sister feeling well, I'd be all set.

Kate... {{{{HUGS}}}} to you. I can sympathize, it is no fun when everyone in the house doesn't get any sleep. Hang in there. You are doing a great job and remaining strong by doing pu/pd each time. If you are concerned he is hungry due to a growth spurt, IMHO (and it is not very BWish), I would feed after a normal feed cycle (4-6 hours) or whatever you feel he needs. You could also feed more filling solids at night... less fruits and veggies and more cereal.

It is a vicious cycle, I know... you are determined to do pu/pd, get tired, start feeding again because it is faster, then get down about it, etc. I have been there, girlfriend, and like another mom said to me... am wearing the T-shirt! Keep your chin up and remember to take care of yourself too... do what you need to do to get through the really rough patches.

Judy... very cute about the Christmas tree. My DH saw your avatar today and commented about how very cute your girls are.  He is peering over my shoulder to see who my virtual hot mama friends are!

Holly... {{{{HUGS}}}} to you too. I hope Brady checks out fine at the doctor's. I'm crossing my fingers for you. And, he will be just fine... not a wuss if his mommy loves him lots. Sorry to hear about your sister and father's health. I wish you a love-filled holiday season with them - remember to tell them at every opportunity how much they mean to you.

Erin... so sorry the ring has not turned up. Your DH is so sweet to offer to buy you a nicer one. Chrissy present??

Andrea... LOL on the advert of Judy's MIL and pee!

Micky... love the mini drummer boy!!

Nancy... we went to have pictures with Santa today. My friend organized it in her apartment complex. Arwyn was great. She didn't cry at all and I think DH got some good pictures. I will post them as soon as he gets them up on the web!

WE HAD A POO!!! Thank goodness... this mommy was getting seriously worried!!! (Funny the things I can get excited about these days  )

Kate, (((Big Hugs))) sweetie....I can sympathize with you. Brady has been exactly like that as well. (other than our naps today), but there have been those exact moments you described. You are doing a great job and I know its exhausting on little/no sleep at all, just know that it will work in the end. Keep your spirits up the best you can, and do what you need to do to get you through those rough patches....sending tons of good sleep vibes your way......

Big hugs to those that need them.  Kate, sorry no advice in the pu/pd department.  Holly, here's hoping the doctor can ease your mind with Brady,

Judy, that's so funny about the Christmas tree, ours was decorated in a similar fashion LOL.  Some of the little present decorations have already been unwrapped too.

Well done Arwyn for pooing!

Micky, cool pic of DH and Jack.

Here are a few pics from today.  The family one is only the 2nd one we have with Danielle!   We were over at my parents, so thought it was a good time to get a few casual snaps.

I'm having trouble attaching, so I'll see if they load up as a link to my photohost.

Hello everyone!  Unfortunately for me, it looks like I am going to have to cut back on my computer time for a little while.  My eyes are taking a beating ...  it all started a couple of yeras ago, 2nd term at college I lost sight in my right eye.  Not completely but I had a big round fuzzy area in the middle of my vision.  I went to a bunch of specialists and basically I had fluid building up at the back of my eye and I was seeing a reflection of it (aka teh fuzzy spot).  Then it happened again this summer in the height of lack of sleep, no naps with Carter.  It generally affects mid 20's highly stressed people.  The Dr asked if I was stressed and said "Did you see that 3 month old in the waiting room?"  To make a long story short, I have been having severe headaches the last couple of weeks and voila, I have blurry spots again ... in BOTH eyes this time   The weird thing is when I go for appts I still have 20/20 vision.  Doesn't really make sense.  However, watching tv and looking at the computer screen kinda hurt my head so ....

On a better note, after a week of night wakings which really seemed to be due to hunger, Carter slept 11 hours last night!!!! We had a busy day (I cooked a big Turkey dinner and we had a mini Xmas party with friends and their 10 mos old DD) so he didn't nap really well in the afternoon but he went right to bed.  We gave him cereal before bed for the first time because I hadn't pumped any extra milk in the a.m to give him at night.  Maybe that is the trick???  Anyhow, I had a good nights sleep for once!!  I hope these sleep habits continue as DH is going away on business to Georgia for the beginning of the week and with the headaches I will be going mental!!

Holly:  I'm sorry to hear about your sister and your Dad.  I hope they get better.  Things usually have a way of working out!  Try to stay positive!

Mickey:  Love the pic of the Drumming Duo!  Jack looks like such the little man!

Nikki:  Your two are adorable!!  They look so much alike!!!  (That's coming from someone with blurred vision LOL)

It snowed like crazy here overnight and we are off to get our Christmas tree today!  We go to this place where you can cut your own and I am sooo excited!
Have a great day everyone!!

hi girls, just a quickie from me today.
We are going to find someone else to look after Ri in the new year, Janean is good with the kids, but things have happened and i am wary of her doing it anymore. I have heard that she smoked around them at the park, she stod back to do it, but that means she left my kids to smoke. Also she went out to a club and then had the kids all day, I called at lunch and she could barley talk, what kind of attention are my kids getting if she is like that.
I took a quick picture of me, just me at home today, but I wanted to show you all my haircut, I will get pics of me going to work later.
Right here is the new cut girls....oh and thanks for the chat on friday, just wish I was more awake to stay longer....

Cute cut, Naomi!  I think it sounds like Janean would probably prefer a change in the situation too.  It'll be better for your friendship, I'm sure.  Good luck finding someone!

Big (((hugs))) to you, Holly!  Aren't Dads nutty?  It's still the protection mode, I guess.  I'm sending good ~~~vibes~~~ for your Dad and Sissy!

Congrats to Cathy....about the sleeping through, not the eye issues.  That stinks!  I'm hoping you can still post, maybe just not read all 87 pages a day.   8)   We won't mind at all, but we'd miss not hearing about you and CARter.

And on to us....RYAN SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!!  Hoooooray!  It took me over an hour of pu/pd to get him down for the night...but, thank the Lord, he wasn't even crying!  Just wants to stand up about 45 times before going to sleep.  But, then he went from 9-7:30!!!  Not as good as usual, but I'll take what I can get.  (I know that bedtime seems late, but he was so exhausted from the previous night he slept until 8:30 yesterday am).  Just went down for nap # 1 and it took about 15 mins. of pu/pd.  Am starting a better nap wind-down, and I think this will help.  I reread the pu/pd chapter in the newest book and that is helping.  Dh was much more on board after seeing that it IS working...and having 8 hours of sleep helped the convincing, too.

Off to work on the tree while Ryan sleeps, but just couldn't wait to let you know of his progress and how much I appreciated those hugs and good wishes!

Naomi,  as I am a nanny in a past life (I trained as one as well), there is no way I would have done that around the lo's I was in charge of.  I would certainly be looking for someone else.  It makes me angry when some nannies don't put the kids first

Anyway, we are having a few night wakings again, but luckily they only take a few minutes of pat/sh to get him back to sleep.

We put the Christmas tree up the other day, I have some photos, so I will send soon.  I am posting my Christmas cards today but there will be no photos sorry.........  We tried to sit on santa's lap the other day but unfortunately, he was a little scary for James.  Oh well, mummy certainly wasn't going to sit on santa's lap.  Not in the shops anyway    .

I was hoping to be in the chat the other night, but unfortunately, it is when James is awake. Will try next week and get DH to look after.

HOpe everyone has had a lovely weekend.

Chat soon

Naomi I love your new cut!!  Awesome.  Sorry to hear things aren't working out so well with Janean (is she still popping in here??).  Hope your search for new care goes smoothly.

Love all the pics!!  Ankie- I'd never get any of my girls to sit with Santa.  Everytime we've made it to the mall Zoe has asked for days why the kids get their picture taken with Santa and she doesn't want to get too close to the whole setup either (doesn't want Santa to see her :))

Hi and our dreadful night!
« Reply #297 on: December 05, 2005, 00:06:51 am »
Hi all.

Nikki - love the photos, what a beautiful family!!

Ankie - Arwyn is just too cute, climbing on everything!! Love the rig-up DH came up with to help with feeding her!! Smart guy.

Mickey - Jackson looks simply adorable behind the drums - I had seen that picture when I was hoping we were going to meet up at WEM - checked out your website to see what he (and you) looked like.

Naomi - I love your hair! Mine is similar when I let it grow out longer. Is your naturally wavy? Sorry to hear about Janean, it is so hard to find someone you trust with your LO's! Good luck in your search.

Here goes on our dreadful night...big sigh...

Our night last night was awful!! Molly was a bit fussy yesterday, but nothing too bad so didn't think much of it. Last night she woke just as we were getting into bed around 10 pm, she was screaming at the top of her lungs!! She screamed non-stop for 2 and a half hours!! I tried everything...Tylenol, ovol, gripe water, changed her diaper, teething tablets, fed her (even though she hasn't eaten in the middle of the night for about 2 months). Nothing worked. She cried so hard of course she threw up!!
Finally I think she gave way to exhaustion and fell asleep on DH. She woke an hour later, doing the same thing!!  She had an ear infection just over a month ago and I thought it couldn't be one again!! But, up with her another hour, then she slept a couple of fitful hours and up for the day at 5:30 am.
Being Sunday here our pediatrician is of course not available and the clinic here where we live doesn't open until 1 pm and only takes walk-ins on Sundays. We were there at 1 pm and had to wait for 45 minutes to find out that yes, she does have another ear infection. Same ear. Poor little thing. We have antibiotics and will need to see her pediatrician sometime this week as we are planning to fly to Victoria on Thursday to see the in-laws and if the ear infection isn't clearing I am not too thrilled about travelling on the airplane by myself with a wee one!!

Anyways, just needed to get that out!! Congrats to all whose little ones have been sleeping well and {{{{{{{{ HUGS }}}}}}}} to those who are still struggling!!
~Michelle (Spruce Grove, AB, Canada)

Not even a busy couple of days on the thread but I feel so far behind.

Kate-read about Friday yesterday but had no time to post.  Big hugs for your trying night and congrats on last night!  that is sooo great :D   Did you at any point think Ryan was playing a game with you standing up so many times?  I often will sit in the glider and let Cole play but I guess that's the wrong tactic...he then thinks it's play time.

Naomi-totally cute cut.  I so wish I had wavy hair.  Sorry it didn't work out with Janean, but at least you found out early.  Good luck searching for a replacement.

Nikki-what wonderful pics.  I can't believe how much they look alike!

Holly-did i miss something re: Brady on the chat?  anyway, guess it's water under the bridge for now with your good night sleep.  (oops-shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)  As for your dad.  I so hear you girl.  My invincible father goes in for triple-bypass tomorrow and thinks he'll be home Wednesday.  Last time he went in for surgery he came out 9 months later!  Anyway, I know how you're feeling and I hope that you get to spend some quality time with dad and sis over the holidays.

Cathy-sorry about your eyes.  what a drag!  I didn't need glasses until I started working in front of a computer.  Dreaded but blessed machines aren't they!  YAY for your good sleep:)

Erin-have to say yippee for the new ring.  but sorry the old one didn't turn up

Michelle-My gosh-poor Molly.  I thought I had it bad last night but your night certainly takes the cake.  Hope she feels better very soon.

Ankie-love the feeding gadget-very clever.  and the pics are totally cute.

okay, now for us if I can remember our weekend.  I'll start with dinner last night.  Cole fed to sleep which seemed good as I was rushing to leave.  As my hand hit the doorknob to leave he woke up.  Oh well, I walked out the door :D  DH had decided to stay home.  Later I heard it took 30 min. to settle him-no tylenol, MIL didn't pass along word that he could give it if needed.  Then FIL and DH were doing something in the basement and made a really loud noise and woke cole around 9:30.  He settled pretty well apparently.  I came home at 10:30.  I was tired and went straight to bed.  Was going to feed Cole but thought-what if this is the night he sleeps through??  Up at 1:15 am (7.5 hours exactly after last feed) so I fed him, then up every hour I think on the hour.  Settled back fairly well each time except he was gruntly and pulling up legs.  had to give Oval.  Oh ya, he had hard rabbit poops yesterday.  Had given jarred bananas.  Not sure if it was that.  He was really uncomfortable so I let him sleep in my arms to keep him upright until the Oval kicked in.  Another hard poop in the am so it was carrots and prunes (just a bit-first time) for breakfast. An hour later relief for our little man.  Dinner was really good.  I had sea bass-whole fish.  YUM.  It was so great to get out.

Today we went for brunch and Cole was late home for nap 2 so he fed to sleep.  No biggie.  DH offered to do bedtime.  After reading Kates inspiring story I told him no holding to sleep, that he had to do pupd.  Goes up at 6:07.  And comes down when, 6:11, after ONE pupd.  sheesh, not fair :D     Cole went right to sleep.

Okay-ENOUGH about sleep.  TWO huge developments!

THE TEETH ARE HERE, THE TEETH ARE HERE.  I can finally see them for real on the bottom.  sooooo exciting.  maybe this is why he went down okay.  Not certain they are all the way through as he won't let me in his mouth.

COLE STOOD UP TWICE YESTERDAY.  Isn't that crazy?  I didn't see how he did it the first time but the second time I was sitting on the floor and he was squatting next to me with his hands on my legs.  Next thing I knew he stood up and let go of me    :D    Soooo crazy!  I think it was for around 3-4 seconds although it felt more like 10:)

okay, gotta get off the pc because DH has to install a light fixture and we're not sure which electrical switch he has to turn off.  I am sick of cole chewing on the tortiere lamp cord in the DR so we're installing a cheapie light fixture until we find one we like.

as i mentioned above girls, dad is in for surgery tomorrow.  positive vibes this way please.

Ladies:
I FOUND MY RING!!!!!!!!!  I can't believe it.  I have never been more convinced of anything than when I told you it was gone.  We did a load of laundry today, and I opened the dryer to take it out and my ring was just sitting there on the lint filter.  I still can't figure out how it's possible that it was there the whole time - I mean, we literally took the dryer apart into a ton of pieces, looked EVERYWHERE...and it just appeared.

Traci - hooray for getting out!  So nice to have grown up time every now and then.  Positive vibes for your dad's surgery tomorrow.  And holy cow  for Cole's standing!

Michelle - Hope Molly feels better soon - Katie had her first ear infection last week, wow are they tough.

Micky - Love the pic of the drumming boys.

Nikki - Love your pictures - I wish it was getting warm where we live!  I love summer - nice to see it's warm somewhere in the world.

Ankie - Love the Santa pic - I've been meaning to Katie's picture taken with Santa at the mall at some point.  I think you've inspired me!

Kate - Hooray for Ryan's good sleep!  Hope it continues.

Holly - sorry to hear about the family issues.  Hope all works out well and that Brady checks out ok too.

Naomi - Lovely haircut!  Sorry that things didn't work out with Janean.

Cathy - Sorry about the eyes, please let us how you are.  Like the others have said, just post and let us know how you and Carter are - or join us for chat if you can!

Lisa - love all your pictures too.  Looks like lots of fun.

Judy - How much longer until DH comes home?  Must be rough on the girls and you too to have him gone for so long.

Sorry if I missed anyone - have a great day/night everyone.
