Hey girlies,

Finally got some time to catch up.  Hopefully Cole will sleep a bit longer and let me post

Nancy-totally cute avatar.  So glad the piccies turned out for you
Hannah-yikes on the expired tylenol   thank goodness you were there!  are you back at work this week?  wow, why did i think it was next week?
Richelle-poor chapped Sophie...but doesn't seem to affect her disposition if she's chatting away like she is.  Mama...ahhh, isn't it a wonderful sound?  At least until it becomes demanding eh?  MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!  Kudos to you on the birthday rescue.  And you're right about -25    . I'm finding zero degrees chilly right now!
Macaire-ouch on the nipple  I'm am so nervous about Cole's two teeth that are about to pop through.
Bec-OMG, there is a song on my children's CD that has a song about Kookaburras and I just sing along but never knew what the heck it was until now.  LOL :D
Micky-any new foods for jackson, or for you?  I'll explain below, but that seems to be the cause for our TWO weeks of night wakings.
Jo-Cole eats everything in sight.  If he grizzles I think it's because he's full but he still opens his mouth :? .  I would continue to offer the offending food every couple of days.  Apparently they can go on and off it again.  Tracy (and other authors) say not to force anything as you want mealtime to be pleasant.  Good luck.
Bianca-your Sienna has beautiful eyes.  And I love how Ky is mimicking her :P totally cute.
Judy-Here is a GREAT big hug to you.  It must be so hard going back to crummy sleep after a brief period of success.  I hope you can solve it soon.  In a couple of years I'm sure you won't even remember.  LOL!!

Alright-our night was WAY WAY better.  Woke at 10 and fed.  Woke at 3:30 and I just didn't have the fortitude for pupd and DH is really quite sick so he couldn't get up, fed.  Up for day at 5:40 (not bad).  I think he might have woken one other time but I don't remember :?
SO-No zucchini yesterday.  Not sure if it's the first time since sleep issues started...but I really think this was the offender!  No grunting or pulling up of legs last night.  And no tylenol...so I hope I haven't been drugging my poor boy when all he needed was gas relief

Holly pointed me to a menu planner for stage 2 infants yesterday.  Gosh-no wonder Cole isn't sleeping through.  I guess I've had an idea of how much he should eat, but I am not giving him nearly enough, especially since he's so mobile.  And I know that I shouldn't go by guidelines...but I won't necessarily give him more even if he's not refusing (full).  So starting today I'm giving him much more for lunch, dinner and starting a snack.  Maybe I'll have a breakthrough with sleep once he's got enough calories.  Here is the link for those that may be interested.
http://www.heinzbaby.com/english/mix/menu_planner.html

Seems to me I am about 5 tbsp short for lunch and dinner and I just started giving mum mums as a snack near 2pm feed.  Do you guys give snacks, and if so, when?

lastly-what would you guys have done yesterday re: afternoon nap. Clearly I had to let Cole sleep, should I have woken him after 30 minutes to maintain his bedtime schedule, or just put him down later???  just curious what you ladies would have done.

PHEW-all done for now.  I gotta write some cards!!  BWers are getting done first since they are global.  I printed his pics off on the pc last night and they turned out well. yay!

Holly-you'd better post soon as I am bursting for you to tell your good news

Good Morning/Evening/Afternoon,

HOw is everyone and their 'cherubs' this morning!  Jjo and Bianca I love that phrase for oue little angels!

Cathy - I can;t believe that I forgot to post earlier about your eyes - that` is horrible and I hope you get some relief soon!  Either way keep us posted as much as you can!

Jo - Sophie is vocal and physical about what she likes and dislikes.  She blows raspberries WITH a mouthful of the offendind food, smacks the spoon away while clamping her mouth shut and sometimes for good measure she will throw in a little scream.     :x   I keep offering the offending items as she seems to change her mind all the time.  HATED yogurt at first, loves it now - same with watrmelon.

Michelle - i am in Saskatoon.  I keep hoping it will warm up a little, I may be in luck it was only -22 this morning  :P !

Nancy - Sophie is a chunk too, I love that she is so fat she has little bubbies!!  The new Avatar is sooooo cute!

Sophie is still saying HI this AM but has reverted to MABABA instead of MAMA.  I think it is mostly wishful thinking on my part!

Hi ladies - just have a minute here --
Traci - good to hear your dad's surgery went well - and that you figured out the zucchini

Hannah - back to work (((((hugs)))))

Naomi - ((((hugs)))) to you too - you're a saint BTW to have put up with them as long as you did - hope your new childcare situations works out well

Richelle - I HATE the cold - and what a party you had!  Sounds like what would have happened if my dad tried to do a party like that!

Judy - Hooray for DH being home!  Speaking of DHs being home, anyone notice the last post from Hayley was when her DH came home?  Hope they're having a nice time!

Micky - hope your sleep issues get sorted out - we had some horrid nights when Katie was sick and teething a few weeks back

Bianca - nice to "see" you - your kids are gorgeous

Bec - LOL, I was with Micky in thinking about chipmunks, deer, etc and you come out with lizards and birds I've only read about

Jo - Katie pushes the spoon away when I'm trying to give her something she doesn't want.  Not so vocal about it though.

Nancy - love the Avatar, one day I'll update mine!  Liv is such a chunk, I love it!

Macaire - ouch on the tooth, I've been bitten a few times here too - hurts!

Michelle - Katie has never slept that long in the daytime, so I can't say much to your question about naps.

Andrea - Katie has been doing shorter naps in the AM lately too -- wonder what's up with that.  We've had lots of stuff going on here though - teeth, ear infection, cold, cough....so I've just been going with things the best I can.

We went to the ped this morning - Katie is 28 and a quarter inches long and 18 pounds, 3 ounces - she weighed more in the hospital two weeks ago, but her appetite has really only come back the last few days.  I love my ped - he thanked me for calling him on Thanksgiving when I was worried about Katie.  It was a slow morning there, so we got to chat for quite awhile.  We haven't done much in the way of Christmas presents here, because I know the family has overbought already.  I'm going to pick up a few things for her sometime soon, but nothing big.

OK, I really have to run - talk to you all later!

Oh I forgot to say - Katie is 9 months old today!  She's officially been "out" as long as she was "in" - I feel like it's a big milestone or something.  I really just can't believe how much she's grown!

JO--Liv went through a spell last week where she refused meat and veggies, too. I finally figured out they weren't warm enough for her (I wasn't warming them at all unless they came from the fridge, and even then only a bit). Now I make them a little warmer and she gobbles them up! Still serve her fruit cold and she seems to like it.

RICHELLE--I love chubby babies, too! But I don't appreciate some of the comments I get. Some people are so sweet and say things like, "What a cute little chubby baby!" I don't mind that, but I don't like the comments like, "Oh, my word! What are you feeding that kid?!" "You might be overdoing it a bit!" and the such. Maybe I'm just paranoid b/c I was a chubby kid (pretty much through college), and so I might be a little sensitive about it. Do you get comments like that (or anyone else for that matter)? Does it bother you? I also have problems finding clothes to fit her. She's in 12 mo now!!!!

We had a weird night last night. I woke up at 4:00...not sure why...and couldn't go back to sleep. Liv started stirring (talking and rolling around in her sleep) about 4:45. She finally woke up about 5:15 and tried to settle back down, but couldn't. I figured she was hungry, b/c she didn't finish her bedtime bottle--was too tired and fell asleep before she was done. And we've cut back to only 4 oz on the dreamfeed. So I figured something must have woke her up and she couldn't go back to sleep, b/c she realized she was hungry. So I fed her (first nighttime feeding in months!). She ate 5.5 oz and went back to sleep and didn't stir until 9:00!!! She's a little off schedule today b/c of it, but I wanted her to get good rest (and I needed sleep!). Hopefully we'll get things ironed out today and be back on tonight. It's so funny how far I've come about stuff like this. If this had happened 3 or 4 months ago, I would have freaked out! But now I think I've learned to go with the flow. I owe it all to BW and you girls! It helps so much to know there are other LOs and moms going through the same, and sometimes worse!

For those of you having problems with night wakings, I don't mean to minimize what you're going through...please don't take it that way. I'm just realizing how far I've come personally, and want to share. Hopefully you can look back to a few months ago and see how far you've come too! Hugs to all of you going through the worst of it...wishing you good sleep soon!!

Morning (afternoon, evening...) all!!

Man it's cold here!!  -22 but at least the wind has died down from yesterday!!
Richelle - still cold in Saskatoon I would imagine?? They say it will warm up here in the next few days.

Hi Bianca - what an adorable picture of Ky and Si...very cute!

Mickey - didn't know you were building as well. Good for you. You and Jody can compare notes! We leave Thursday and come back next Wednesday night so maybe the week after, or after Christmas. I go back to work January 11. Yikes, it is coming up fast now!!
I know what you mean about trying to get up after having to get up a couple of times a night, how did we manage a few months ago??

Nancy - Olivia is 24 lbs?? LOL she is very cute indeed. Love the new Christmas avatar!! Do you have her carseat switched to forward facing now?? My carseat says fwd facing at 20 lbs...?

Jo - yes, our Molly is very vocal in her food dislikes as well. She will eat something really well one day, then the next refuse it by clamping her mouth shut and shaking her head back and forth. Can't figure these darn little ones out!!

Naomi - OMG lady, you get a huge gold star and many, many hugs for putting up with your "friend" and her BF. Craziness. What is up with people anyways?? Give someone an inch and they take a mile!!

Cathy - being Canadian too, I know it is a $1.45 stamp to England from here.  HTH!

Judy - LOL @ the vasectomy comment. Men are such wimps aren't they??

Traci - sounds like Cole's sleeping is on the mend?? Hope so for your sanity!! Thanks for the link to the Heinz site, great info there!

Erin - Happy 9 months to Little Katie. She seems tall and skinny from your post about height and weight. Model material!! LOL

Happy Birthday Katie!  Erin, please post a pic soon so we can see how she looks now that she is 3/4 through her first year!

Traci-wouldn't be surprised if the zucchini would be upsetting his little tummy.  It causes gas for me (sorry if TMI), so can imagine for a lo.  Since discovering that peas cause T gas I have yet to try them again!  Hope the zucchini was the offender so you can have that solved.

Holly-what is this good news Traci is teasing us with???

Judy-priceless eh?

Nancy-WOW Olivia is a little rolly polly!  how cute.  jsut ignore people, they do say the dumnest things right?!?!

Naomi-WTH is up with that?  So sorry you had to deal with that.  you are so sweet and to be repaid with that kind of bs is just crazy.  You might want to think about contacting the admin and telling them to make her user id invalid here so she can no longer log in.  Maybe I'm being paranoid but wouldn't want her knowing what was going on with me or my kids KWIM?  Also, so glad you got another sitter.  Let us know how it goes.  Adorable hair by the way you hotty!!!

So we had a good night here last night with just a brief wakign at 5 am but who can blame the poor girl.  Her 18 month old cousin and aunt and grandparents were here yesterday so she was all excited and took a bath wiht her cousin (sooo cute I will post pics later) and didn't get to bed till 8pm!   So considering the late bedtiem I think she did well!

Naps is another story.  We did have a good second one yesterday afternoon after waking her at the 1 hour mark from her mornign nap.  The problem though is the way she is fighting naps with a blood curdling scream!!!!  She usually is so great with going down.  I think she just really wants to play now that she can crawl.  Yesterday afternoon it took 30 minutes to get her down and today 20 minutes.  I finally had to leave the room because she just seemed soooo mad that I was in there and not getting her up.  So I left and she hollered for about 2 min. and then went to sleep     :?: Hate to leave her when she is crying but what else can I do?

On a positive note though, she has started to recognize her books, mainly Goodnight Moon.  2 nights ago when I got it out to read at bedtime she got this HUGE smile, and the same thing last night!  So cute!

  FINALLY, WE GOT OUR FIRST ROUND OF SAMPLES BACK FROM THE SCREEN PRINTER FOR TAYLOR MADE!!!  I will post a picture later with Taylor wearing one of the designs.  I hope you all liek them.  Kind of discouraged because my goal of having everything up and running by December is not going to happen, but I want it to look perfect before we launch...so it may not be till January now.  Oh well  :(

Have a good day everyone!

Hi everyone - I'm back. Actually I've been reading since Sunday night, just haven't had a chance to fully read and then write. But now I'm up to date. As we said early on in the 'rules' we don't have to comment on everyone's happenings, so as soooo much has happened, I won't. But I've certainly thought about comments all the way thru. The cute photos, the understanding of night wakings, the cold temperatures I can't quite comprehend, I can only imagine, the list goes on.

Big news here, we have our first tooth! Woke up Saturday morning and the grandparents house and there it was. Although it's crooked!  I hope it straightens out, it's pointing inwards if that makes sense. Won't look very good in those toothy photos later, but hey, at least he's got one!

Also, we've discovered that we think Daniel needs a bed time of about 7.30pm to sleep past 5am. However in saying that, since having it work for the last 4 mornings, thismorning he woke at 5.15am again. I'm hoping it's just a slight hitch in in the pattern and he'll go back to 6.30am - 7.15am that he has been doing. It's harder having him up an hour longer at night, but much better in the mornings. Daniel's naps have all got moved out a little accordingly, so he's still only awake the same length of time, but I think his body clock is still not working 'right' and is a little confused in the afternoon. Anyway, I'll keep at it a little bit longer and see how he goes. If he continues waking again early I'll change it back. But I do know they can regress.

DH came home last Friday and we drove to Wellington that night. We spent from 10.30am until about 2.00pm in the garden at our rental property on Saturday, then decided we'd pay someone to do the rest. We did a big chunk of it, but didn't want to spend the whole weekend there. Especially as I've still got a blocked nose and DH was tired from work. So we enjoyed the rest of our weekend by relaxing. DH went off again Monday morning for the week, so it's just Daniel and I again. He's back on Thursday or Friday though, then only a couple of days at work next week, then he's on holiday for about 3-4 weeks. YAY!!!!!  :D We're not planning on going or doing anything inparticular, due to finances really, so no idea what we'll get up to. I've said I don't want the holiday to be just the same as every other day of my life at the moment staying at home, and that I want to do some 'exploring' around the area. Fine for him, he wants to be at home cause he always goes away. So hopefully we'll find a compromise and do something a little different while he's off.

I haven't done my cards yet sorry ladies. I hope to do so soon. I feel really behind with everything at the moment, I think the cold that's still lurking is draining my motivation for anything much. I've also got a pile of washing to get rid of, housework to do, cooking for Daniel etc all waiting for me. I think I'll get onto it today, make it my goal for the day.

As for food, Daniel's doing really well. I had a look at that planner that Traci attached. That's all well and good, but there's no way Daniel would eat that much (I don't think). Although I've noticed if I give him veges, then once he closes his mouth to say no, sometimes he'll take some fruit. But I've also read you shouldn't always give them fruit after veges as they end up not eating veges and waiting for fruit. So do you give it at the same time??? I made some spaghetti bolognaise for D yesterday. I'll try him with it today. Didn't add the spaghetti though, I guess I should have.
 At least I've finally made a meat dish to give him with his veges. I've borrowed a really good recipe book from a friend so I'm going to try to make lots of meals from it. For you Kiwi / Aussie mum's it says we can give cherio's/cocktail sausages at 8-9 months as a snack. Says you can freeze them. Just peel skins before giving to them. So I might give that a go next time I go shopping.

Okay, enough from me. I'll try and keep up now.

Hi Ladies, quick post from me as I just got Brady down for a short cat nap, and have to get ready for a birthday dinner tonight....received a phone call from Traci, have to post my good news...lol or she'll explode... lol..anyway, so good news and not so good news....

Good news: - Saturday and Sunday nights were the most amazing nights ever for sleep with Brady. Saturday he had one wake up wanted to play a bit, and then settled himself back to sleep Yah!,,, then....Sunday night, he slept through the whole night, Has NEVER done this before, I repeat...NEVER done this....Super YAH!!!! he went to bed at 8 pm settled in about 5 minutes, a few stirrings through out the night, no complete wakings and then work up for breakfast the next morning at 6:45am....I'm was scared to post in case I jinxed myself. But....now onto the not so good news....

last night was not a good night, so I guess I'm jinxed anyway....he went down again at 8pm, didn't settle well at all, still trying at 9 pm. then woke at 10pm for a few minutes of crying, then back down, up again at 12am for a bit, back down, then up again at 2am till 5:30 am....OMG....back to our old way of things...I'm hoping its not going to change back, I was spoiled with those two great nights....

Traci pointed out that maybe its the Fenugreek I've been taking. I just started it yesterday as my milk supply is really slowing down, Brady isnt' happy nursing anymore so I've had to give him a bottle half milk half formula...he can't take full formula, it really bothers his reflux for some reason....I've can't seem to produce anymore milk for him, so the dr told me to take fenugreek to help increase milk production....maybe its bothering him.... :?  I'll not take it tomorrow and see what happens.

Oh ya...yesterday Brady started to pull himself up onto his knees...Yippee!!! I'm so happy....waiting for him to do it again though :!:

Ok, I'll catch up with all of you after, have to run and have a shower now.
This was to be a short post...lol..oh well

Pictures - twist my arm LOL - here's one of Katie eating Cheerios, her new favorite food, and one of her and the tree - how funny is her face?

Andrea - can't wait to see the designs!

Hayley - Good to hear from you - seems like you're finally getting towards feeling better!  So happy that DH will be home for an extended period of time.
